Blaze not holding charge.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The blaze advertises a 5 day battery. When I orginially got it, it would last 2-3, which I thought was no big deal because I played with it alot. However, the last week or so my battery seems to be draining. Yesterday I let it fully charged and have made it a point to not play with it excessively since it was charged. It has been about 20 hours and I have < 1/4th battery remaining. Is there something going on in the background that is just draining my battery? I didnt pay this much to charge my watch daily and I can't find why the battery won't last.

Hi there everyone!!! Great to see you all in the Forums! 🙂

It's great to hear that some of you have already received a replacement for their trackers! Now, for those who are still struggling with this, I can recommend putting it to charge and once it's fully charged, take it off the cradle and put it on. Sync it and use it as you would normally do. Make sure to sync it frequently after this so that the battery levels are recorded on the app logs and once the battery dies, let me know so that I can take a closer look and then we can move forward with other options for you to get you back on track.

I'll be looking forward for your replies!

Hi! I charged my Blaze last evening. It took several hours to reach a full charge, but it was fully charged when I went to bed at 11:30. It recorded my sleep until I got up briefly at 2:20, as well as the few dozen steps I took at that time, but when I got up at 6:30, the battery was drained, and the time was displaying 3:15, when it also stopped recording my heartrate. I charged it for two hours when I got up, and wore it from 8:30 until 11:00, when the battery indicator on the tracker began to flash red, indicating a very low battery, although when I synched, the app showed the battery as Medium. I charged it again from 11 until 2:30, and have been wearing it for about an hour now.

And now, the battery is listed as Empty, three hours after a full charge.

3 days ago, I switched from an iPhone 5 to a Samsung Galaxy S8+.  Since that time, and downloading the app on the new phone and syncing my Fitbit Blaze to it, my Blaze loses charge in less than a day.  I wonder if it's still looking for the iPhone 5?  Is that even a thing?  Please advise me on what to do.

You can deactivate your blaze from the iPhone so that it only sinks to your new phone to see if that helps. If you have already deactivated from the iPhone, then that's not what's causing the battery drain.

I traded in the phone at the store.  They told me it would be wiped by the end of that day.  So what could be causing this?  I have followed the same syncing procedure I had with the other phone with this one (syncing once per day, charging when it said it was low [which was about every 3 days until now]).

Unless there is a way to deactivate my Blaze from that iPhone without having the iPhone on me?

Hey, yep my charge is not even lasting a day. Fitbit support sent me some help sites to instruct me to turn off some things.  Doesn't help.  This comes shortly after I updated but also this is my second one.  Each time they have lasted about 6 months

I have the same problem. This will be the last Fitbit I purchase. Too expensive not to perform better.

fitbit support replaced my Blaze, arrived 3 days ago, same problem, not hold a charge.  Charged new one yesterday pm, this morning at 8am, it was a 50%

i was thrilled they replaced it (the first replacement was June of 2016 for the purchase of March 2016,but very frustrated that the replacement seems no better.  my settings are the same, just text messages, no music, no email, i sent them notice that this happened again. so we shall see.

Hi FerdinandFitbit,

As an engineer, I can tell you that I've seen similar issues with electronic equipment and it's not going to be fixed by "turning the options off". I've had my Blaze for about a year as well and have always run it in the same mode that it's currently in (low power/sync/etc.).  Same story - went from five days to three days (at best) a couple of months ago.

I strongly suggest that you get your engineering team on this asap or, barring that, your public relations team since this isn't going to end well if people are just keep getting their chains yanked...

My Blaze has started to not hold a charge. At first it went for 3 days without needing a charge. The other day I charged it at night and it was empty in the morning. I really lik(ed) my Blaze, but this is ridiculous.I bought it in January from A4C as a refurb so I don't know if I can get a replacement. However, I would be very wary about buying another Blakze after this. Suggestions? Help?

Thanks

I used to have trouble with my Blaze losing battery quickly, especially overnight.... here are a few things I noticed and what I've done...

First, if not charging it at night, and taking it off... remove the blaze from the wrist strap and lay it flat... the buttons on both sides are really sensitive and over night the screen can come on draining the battery.

Make sure heart and Bluetooth are off at night as well...

Another thing is if I'm sleeping, I turn off quick view... it's way too sensitive to movement, and one the screen is on, it might no go off if you still move or are sleeping with your arm in certain positions...

Hope this helps...

well customer support first gave me the lines of turning off all my options (so i have a $200. pedometer)?  Then they told to ignore the first set of instructions, they also told me that my battery is abnormally draining.  They are sending the 4th replacement today.  Now this time they are sending the full replacement supposedly, and a new charger.  last time i got a tracker only in "universal packaging".  The CS rep told me that although the tracker replacement is  "brand new" , it could be another customer return.  (is this how they appease complaints)?

we shall see when the new one arrives.  i have to charge my battery daily with this new one, that replaced the original replacement, it's worse.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will give them a try. Howkever, I am pissed that Fotbit sells a $200 fitness tracker that has many nice features that I can't use anymore because they cause the battery to run down quickly. I charged my Blaze this morning and at 5pm it was near empty. To Fitbit I say, "What's the point?"

When I first got it the battery lalsted at least 3 full days with getting notifications. Now it lasts maybe 6 hours.

Thanks for sharing. They need to fix this problem as it seems to be widespread. Initially, it was a great device and seemed well worth the money I spent. Now, not so much.

I got my first Blaze less than 24 hours ago and charged it up, its now in the red already. This will never last 5 days.

Thanks for sharing. After going through all the steps for "proper charging"
and extending battery life - which meant turning off all the features that
make this a desired device - customer service offered to send a new (or,
possibly, refurbished) unit. At this point I would not shell out almost
$200 for a Blaze. Too bad, too. It was a great device for the first 4-5
months.

Got my Blaze almost 24 hours ago. Got it around 6:30pm yesterday and it is now 5:24pm. I charged it for 3 hours this morning. It was fully charged when I took it off the charger at 9am. It was in the red by 1pm. I charged it for a few hours agin. I took it off the charger an hour and a half ago and as of right now its going ok. I still have 3/4 of battery left. I turned off the activity reminder which is disappointing. Its one of the features I liked about it. I work a desk job with a desk that can turn into a stand up desk. I was looking forward to having the activity reminder to remind me to stand up and walk around a bit and use my stand up desk. I should be able to get a full 5 days or at least 3-4 days charge with using the activity reminder. We will see how long this charge last. If it doesn't last long, I will be taking it back to best buy and seeing if they will let me exchange it. If not, I will be contacting support.
