Blaze not holding charge.

The blaze advertises a 5 day battery. When I orginially got it, it would last 2-3, which I thought was no big deal because I played with it alot. However, the last week or so my battery seems to be draining. Yesterday I let it fully charged and have made it a point to not play with it excessively since it was charged. It has been about 20 hours and I have < 1/4th battery remaining. Is there something going on in the background that is just draining my battery? I didnt pay this much to charge my watch daily and I can't find why the battery won't last.

This wasn’t my post, however the response is what is recommended every time someone has complained about the battery’s inability to recharge. They don’t listen when you tell them you have done all their recommendations. And, by the time you have done all those things all that is left is a $200 watch that won’t keep time because the battery won’t hold a charge.

I cannot believe they have not done anything to improve the battery’s performance and keep selling the tracker as is despite all of the complaints. I think the only way they will “hear” all of the dissatisfied customers is when their pocket book takes a hit. Customers need to start putting complaints on social media.

When it comes to the performance of a lithium battery. Unless the battery is defective, the life the user receives will be up to the way the user takes care of it.

Ideally the battery should never drop much below 30% or charged much above 80%. It should never be allowed to get overheated by leaving it charging to long or in a hot car.

Letting the battery go completely dead will cause it to stsrt breaking down internally.

This would be the same with the phone. The difference is the phone has a very big battery compared to the Fitbit and symptoms take a lot longer to show up.

If the battery was defective at time of purchase it would quickly show up.

If the user wants the battery to stay functioning in a phone or tracker, they need to take an active role.

Even with the AW it is advised to turn off advertised features to get the 18 hours of life. I personaly feel that if it is advertised it should work .

Now if a Fitbit update has caused a quick change in battery life, I would hope Fitbit would address this, however I have not noticed a widespread battery problem caused by an update. If there was it would be all over the Internet by now, including many tech sites. As with what was seen with the several other widespread issues Fitbit has had.

When a battery’s life goes from 4-5 days to less than 1 day over night, something is not right. This has happened twice now, but this time it had not come back. That was several months ago. I gave up. Now I’m looking for other brands.

That's what happened with my first Blaze last June after having it only
about 5 months. After I did everything Fitbit support suggested with no
positive results, they sent me a replacement. Surprisingly, it has served
me well for a year. Not sure what I'll do when this one goes bad.

Bought June 2016. Blaze worked fine until Sept 2017. Replaced by customer support after amble nagging.

June 1, 2018, switched from 3-4 days/charge to 3-4 hours. Customer support didn't offer any effort to fix, only a 25% discount on their website.

Shame. I really liked my Blaze, but this new battery issue renders it unwearable tech.

yes especially when they say you cannot leave it on a charger over night!

My Wife's is having the same problem - we have tried all the things they say and most of the time they do help for s hrot time.

I think mine is a lemon but they just keep sending the standard do this and do that emails and telling us to sync it more often (My Wife does not really care about syncing it she rarely even carries her smartphone (Note 4)

This is why they should have battery replacement option too expensive for less than 2 year lifespan

U have got to be kidding. Please don’t come in here to do damage control. How many times and hours need to be spent on the phone? I upgraded from a tracker that fell apart. Then that watch band gave my wrist a rash. I was told that I must “rest” my watch and wrist. Then I was sent a replacement. Then that fell apart. Then I tried a different model. Then that battery failed after 3 times and replacements in a year. Come on man! FitBit is irresponsible for taking us all for a ride. Ditch the Bit. Get an iWatch Gen3. Love it!

Fitbit moderator.

Do you feel that reminding a customer it is his/her choice whether to buy a $200 replacement product solves your battery's technical failure?
Best Answer
Absolutely. Especially when my customer satisfaction was a zero on a 1-10 CAS score. Buyer beware. Ditch the Bit. Apple Watch Gen3 been working for over a year and battery lasts 5-6 days and charges in 1 hour.

I just got off phone with Fitbit "help" for battery issue. They said all I can do is buy a new Fitbit for 40% off or a Blaze for 25% off.

I bought mine June 2016. This battery issue started 9 days ago. I charge full then it's dead an hour or two later. VERY unhappy and probably won't buy another Fitbit.

I got my Blaze for Xmas,  love it but...

Where I was getting a good 3 days on a charge, I'm now charging every day and a half and am concerned this will worsen.

Is this a common issue, I would have expected at least 2 full years before the battery started losing charge like this

Seems to be a common issue.
Nursing mine along by turning off quick view and notifications from my phone which has it lasting 3 days at the moment.

Still, the Fitbit lasted 4/5 days with all features on for a couple months and suddenly became unpredictable. Sometimes only lasting for a day or so.

There are people on here saying the battery should be charged/discharged a certain way to not impair it but if that’s the case, this should have been clearly stated, not brought up after the fact.

My Blaze has been working just fine until a couple of days ago.   Now it holds a charge for a couple of hours before the red bar appears.

FirBit Admin promotes calling customer support - that's a joke.   Rep blames it on the Samsung 8 series of phones.

My watch is out of warranty which is fine, I get no support, but my GF has same phone and watch - bought at the exact same time as mine - and hers is fine.  Phone excuse is BS as I wasn't even near my cell when my battery died.

Google Health and my old wristwatch here I come.

So long FitBit.  I've wasted way too many hours of my life trying to sync your products and will tell anyone and everyone I know.

Its a common issue that Fitbit is aware of, but they have no real fix in place..

Bad thing is I just got a versa for mother's day and it won't even charge at all. They sent me a new charger and that wasn't the problem. Have to call them back again.

UPDATE

After this yesterday...

"I got my Blaze for Xmas,  love it but...

Where I was getting a good 3 days on a charge, I'm now charging every day and a half and am concerned this will worsen.

Is this a common issue, I would have expected at least 2 full years before the battery started losing charge like this"

Woke up this morning to find the battery flat. According to the app, it ran out at 3:49am, less than 12 hours after a full charge.

Beyond a joke!
