Welcome to the Community Forums @dwjpeters! I'm sorry for the late response. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

For me to better assist, please perform the steps below:

- Make sure it is not on a hot or extreme temperature area
- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
- Let go of the buttons.
- If your Fitbit Blaze doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

dwjpeters,

You can try doing what the Fitbit reps recommend, but most likely their solution will not work.

There have been many posts on this going back a couple of years. Here's one of the most recent and I think you should pay particular attention to Message #36 from ZokyS and #37 from me.  https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Blaze/Temperature-symbol-on-display/td-p/2437699

We both had the problem and fixed it. However, it did require disassembly of the Fitbit Blaze. Obviously, this will void any  warranty, if you have any left. If you do have warranty protection, then I'd recommend that route. If you don't have any warranty, you can follow what ZokyS and I did.  If you don't have experience working with fine electronics/mechanics then you could trash the Fitbit as well...though....it's basically a wrist brick now anyway, so you don't have much to lose.  You DO NEED some fine tools, as mentioned in the posts.

Here's a few other recent posts on this topic (misery DOES love company! LOL):

And I know there are many more. You're not alone. We're a "not so elite group" LOL ...and resolving the problem for users, or even accepting responsibility for their faulty design, is apparently not on Fitbit's radar.

Good Luck,

~Rick
