Using 'Run...', start with connected GPS with my Samsung Galaxy 4, midway through the run it stops tracking. When I finish my run, on my fitbit dashboard, I see the map is there, but it's incomplete. Did the Bluetooth get disconnected midway? How do I fix that? It's happened twice on long runs (over 30 minutes).

Great to see you around guys @FredFornicola @Climbking 🙂
@Climbking, have you noticed if by any chance your Blaze has any contact with your skin that might be pausing it or finishing the session? That's something I can think that can be causing this.

Thanks for getting back @Climbking!
You could try using a sweat band right below the Blaze on your arm or maybe using gloves and see if this makes any difference just to determine if that's exactly what's happening.
Let me know if you need more help!

I have been having similar issues with my blaze as well. You can see in the map the areas where there is a straightshot line with no bumps in the line or anything. I would be curious to see what people are doing to fix this

So this is what I think may be happening. A) If I'm wearing a long sleeve type workout shirt that slides up and down over my Blaze I believe it can activate the touchscreen the and pause or complete the work out. This has occurred while I'm doing my slackline work out and I found no other explanation. B) I have observed when I'm doing workouts like yoga when your wrist is bent back doing a movement let's say a push-up for example, the Blaze buttons may be activated with pressure applied to them from the back of my hand during the movement. In doing so it has paused and even stopped the work out. So I found wearing the Blaze higher on my rest during this type of workout has prevented it from occurring again and it has not affected the accuracy of tracking my workout.

I'm not sure this solves it. I have a MotoX and my FitBit also stops tracking exercise randomly. My bluetooth is working because I have music going from Spotify AND I also use MapMyRide and it's tracking me the whole way. I've been watching to make sure I could pinpoint. What now?

My blaze is also having problems mid exercise mode, I've had my blaze for about 2 months and it worked great, I bought it so I could track my bike rides which the app does not include, it only has walk run and hike options, during exercise mode for run or bike on the blaze in the last 2 weeks every single time I'm in exercise mode using the gps connectivity after roughly 30-45 min. it just stops tracking, when I go to look at my blaze to check my distance it is just back at the main screen where the date and time are,and the activity has stopped all together, and I don't touch the face all I do is flip my wrist to check my status,Ive tried removing the blaze from the app and then adding it back,I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app,and nothing solves the problem, also I have it set up for all day sync but when I open up the app and check it there is always a sync error and when I try to sync it it just keeps spinning and never syncs, so I have to close the app restart my phone and then open the app up for it to sync, but then it won't sync anymore until I repeat these steps, I think this is a defective device, I had no problems with my charge HR ,but I wanted this one so I could track my exercises with the map and use my gps. I hope fitbit would let me exchange it for the fitbit surge, and I'll just pay the difference

I have been testing the heck out of this thing. I think it's the GPS in the FitBit itself. Here's my reasoning:
There's a little gear icon for 'Run' and 'Bike'. I clicked on that and clicked the 'Use Phone GPS' option to OFF, figuring that maybe my phone's bluetooth was out of wack (even though I have other bluetooth devices connected to it and have no issues there). When I do that, My FitBit will track my exercise all the way, BUT it ONLY tracks heart rate and calorie burn information. It doesn't track my speed, distance, or any of the other features that require GPS.
The only thing I haven't tried at this point is allowing it to use my phone's GPS, but turning off the WiFi completely because I wonder if maybe my phone tries to connect to WiFi signals it picks up, and that's what's cutting it off from the GPS/bluetooth. I'll be riding tomorrow and am going to test that theory then. If that doesn't work, I will probably write in to FitBit and see if maybe there's an update they can push out or something to fix the Blaze's GPS.

@PKB76140, im not sure if your saying that the tracker stops working but stays in the tracking mode, or if your saying that the tracking mode simply turns itself off.
@Sparkysuz, your Blaze does not have a built in GPS, but depends on the GPS that is in your phone. That is why you did not get a map with GPS is turned off. It should still be tracking your steps, the time period of the exercise, and your distance based on what it thinks that your stride is.

I guess I misunderstood with the feature of 'Connected GPS'. I assumed it had its own GPS.
If you use your phone's GPS, the FitBit stops tracking exercise randomly. I have tested this a lot lately on my bike rides. Sometimes I ride 5 miles, and sometimes I ride up to 34 miles. I can typically get the FitBit to stay tracking through a 5-mile ride, but it will stop tracking the exercise somewhere between 10-15 miles of my rides. It still tracks anything related to my heart rate, but won't track the exercise any longer. The FitBit doesn't stop working, it's just the exercise mode that stops. The only thing that keeps exercise mode on for the entire ride, is if I turn off the setting to use my phone's GPS. I've tried turning off my phone's WiFi to prevent any signal interruption, but that doesn't help it either. I've also turned off other notifications on my FitBit to prevent any interruption there, but that also did not fix the problem. It seems to be entirely related to the FitBit not staying connected to my phone's GPS.
Instead of being able to rely solely on my FitBit, I have to use my FitBit and the MapMyRide app together.

I've had the same issue. I've been losing my connectivity around the 15-17 mile point.

I'm having the same issue as others (workout stops tracking mid-workout) it's not only when using GPS. I've had my blazer for about 2-3 months and I started noticing this recently. It stopped 10 min into my run, thankfully I caught it and restarted. It stops during my HIIT workouts when I'm not using GPS. I don't understand the problem, but FitBit needs to come up with a solution. The a main reason I for having the device is to a track exercise. If the problem is touching the screen accidentally then they need to implement a screen lock while actively tracking exercise to avoid the issue. Has anyone had any luck figuring this one out yet?

I am on my third blaze in 8 months.
It really doesnt matter what what I do, the tracker stops recording at intermittent times.
And im not going to sit there during a 3 hour run and wait to see what exactly happens on my Fitbit or my iPhone for the solution.
Unfortunately, fitbits might be great for regular activity tracking, but they are subpar for accurate running.

@bmp-design you will have to ask user PKB76140 as to why they marked the thread as solved.

Yes, how is this problem solved? I have the same problem happening to me. I just get kicked out of the workout when my GPS seems to disconnect. Why would the workout not continue and the distance tracking resume when the GPS is connected? It looks like a software problem.
