Blaze stops working, becomes unresponsive

Twice in the last week, my Blaze stopped working.  I went skiing this past Sunday and the Blaze stopped working.  While working out one day this week, it stopped working.  This has happened a couple times before this, but this is the first time it's happend twice in the same week.

When the watch stops working, all of the buttons are unresponsive and pushing any single button does nothing to revive it - the only thing that works is putting the watch back on the charger, which immediately wakes the watch back up.  No tracking occured while the watch was unresponsive.

I did not try pushing and holding the left and lower right button (I'll try that next time).  I think this watch is pretty close to a year old, so I wanted to not delay the report any further in case this is a warranty/repair issue.

Today my watch stopped working sometime mid-morning.

  • I tried pushing and holding the left button and the bottom right button but that did nothing.
  • I tried pushing and holding each button individually which did nothing.
  • I tried pushing and holding the left button and the top right button, but that did nothing.
  • I tried pushing and holding both right buttons, but that did nothing.
  • I tried pushing and holding all three buttons, but that did nothing.
  • I tried using my iphone to see if i could connect/sync the phone and it did not connect/sync

finally...

  • I put the watch on the charger and it immediately displayed the fitbit icon and booted up.  I removed the watch from the charger a few seconds later.
(for verification, the battery meter shows that the battery is nearly full)

ALSO...

I use my watch as my primary alarm to wake me up in the morning, but I didn't wake up the last two mornings.  I figured I was tired and just slept through it.  To verify, I little bit ago I set an alarm for two minutes in the future.  At the specified time, there was NO vibrations, but the watch face did indicate that the alarm was going off.  So apparently the vibrator in the watch is also broken.

I think it's time for a replacement.

My blaze is currently stuck on the ‘today’ screen with my back button not working. It won’t restart, nor taking it out of the strap is fixing it and I’m not home to try putting it in the cradle as others suggested.

really frustrating as I need it for work later today for timing etc! 😤
