ISSUE: Can't sync or pair Blaze with an iOS device
BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSIONS AFFECTED: (8.301.7) & (8.200.3)
iOS VERSIONS AFFECTED: 10.2.x
*** FIXED IN BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSION (8.301.8) ***
Still having trouble? Can't update or sync?
Read the difference between unbonding and unpairing first:
Unbonding - going into the bluetooth settings of your iPhone or iPad, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Forget This Device".
Unpairing - going into the Fitbit app, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Remove This Blaze".
*** DO NOT DO THIS TO TROUBLESHOOT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE ***
Now that you've read that, try unbonding BEFORE trying to update your Blaze firmware (see screenshots below):
Okay, I've unbonded. Now what?
Try syncing your Blaze, then try to update the firmware.
Still can't sync or update? Here are some suggestions:
Updated on 1/20/17 for clarity.

Every time I try to push the updat to my Blaze, it times out and doesn't complete. I tried resetting/ restarting my Blaze but still no luck. I've attempted to push the update at least 10 times and it is still not working. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Community @Chelsnoel, @Krissy75, @Angie180 and @CCRenie. It's nice to see you around @Graeme1974. ![]()
Indeed, as @CCRenie mentioned, we're currently experiencing an issue that's preventing the Blaze from syncing with the Fitbit app on iOS 10.2. Our engineering team is aware of this situation and is working towards a solution for it.
In the meantime it's possible to sync your Blaze by removing the Bluetooth bond between your phone and your tracker. However, other functions (Connected GPS, Notifications, and Music Control) will not function because bond between tracker and mobile device has been removed.
To remove the bond, please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if Blaze is on the list of paired devices, if it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device, then restart your phone. Your tracker should be able to sync.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, keep me posted in case you need anything else! ![]()
Hi, I have tried all the steps mentioned and my Blaze is still not working, the time is also off. Had this happen once before and resetting the Blaze fixed that but it is not fixing it this time. I have reset several times and tried updating it but it will not finish it. My Blaze has not synched or worked in any way since Dec. 12th. I am draining the battery on my phone and Blaze daily trying to figure it out. Not sure why I bought it at this point.
Best AnswerHi there,
Since last week Ive had problems with my fitbit Blaze. I cannot sync. One of the trouble shooting steps was to remove device from my account and re-setup i cant even setup by Blaze as a new device as my iphone and computer cannot find device. Keeps stating searching. My Blaze is only 2 months old! ive uninstalled and reinstalled the fit bit app. Can anyone help?
Best AnswerI have a similar problem, in which mine stopped syncing so the "troubleshoot" was to remove device and re-setup and now cannot even find device. Might as well get a refund at this point.
Best Answerforgot the device, now it won't find it to do the firmware upgrade.

Best AnswerAgain here are the steps that completely fixed my sync and battery drain issue.
1. Removed device from app
2. Deleted app from phone
3. Removed device from phone's bluetooth settings
4. Restarted phone.(make sure your bluetooth on you phone is turned on)
5. Restarted Blaze. ( holding left button and right bottom button down until blue diamond appears)
6. Installed fitbit app on phone
7. Logged into fitbit app
8. Add Blaze to app (not through the phones bluetooth settings). have patients this will take a little bit.
Best AnswerHi Andrew. I am unable to update my fracker (blaze). Every time I click next on it, the loading takes about a minute and then shuts off and takes me back to my main Fitbit blaze account (on my app) and it still says "update tracker" in pink. Multiple times I have tried and it says "there was a problem communicating with the fitbit server. Try again later". What do I do now?
Best AnswerI keep trying to upgrade it even with the troubleshooting(forgetting the device) and it still refuses to even finish loading the update past that same halfway mark. 😞
Mine is doing the same thing, hasn't synced since Sunfay at 5:07PM, needless to say it is unuseable. I did everything it tells me to do in the help forum (shut off blaze, forget the device, etc., etc.,) When I go to update tracker and follow the steps, it starts for about half of loading then it stops ( 1 1/2 hrs).
Here are my stats:
IOS 10.2.1
Blaze ver. 17.8.301.7
clock is off by approx. 2hrs
Blaze and I Phone fully charged
Maybe someone from Support will find the answer
My blaze still won't synce and the update won't push through either. Just as other users, it only loads about 50% and bumps out.
I finally got mine to update. I went to the Bluetooth settings and chose to forget the Fitbit. I then shut off my Fitbit (through settings on the watch) and my phone. Turned both devices back on and open the Fitbit app again. It finally went past the 50% loading and finished the update.
This solution worked for me, but only when I placed blaze into the charging cradle for the update.
Best AnswerMine finally worked too. I also placed it on the charging cradle as no matter what I did for the last 24 plus hours my fitbit and my iphone would NOT sync. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences. I was almost going to power down and go purchase another Polar watch.
