I recently purchased a Blaze, after downgrading from the Surge.
I can not for the life of me get my Samsung Galaxy S8 plus to connect with the Blaze to
be able to get notifications. After spending almost 45 mins between the chat feature on Fitbits website and on the phone with a tech. They determined that the Blaze's notifications do NOT work with the Galaxy S8. Seems like a cop out, why didn't they tell me that in the first 3 mins of talking with them?
Any solution to this? Anyone else have this issue, and resolved it?
thanks!
Thanks @SunsetRunner. I'm returning the Blaze today and I'll have to take a hard look because the Ionic and the Gear Sport are the same price. This whole experience soured Fitbit for me. They should really make sure that when you search your device for compatibility it clearly states that notifications don't work.
Good luck to all others suffering with the Blaze!
Yep, for me the Ionic was the last chance.
The only problems for me are that my whole family has Fitbit trackers and we challenge each other a lot and that I have a lot of data collected in my Fitbit account and I really (really!) don't want to move it to another platform. So I rather change the phone than the tracker (I had an iPhone 7 Plus with no issues at all). But fortunately Ionic and S8+ work fine together.
If you buy the Gear, please let us know how it works, I like gadgets a lot so... 🙂

Hey there @Staraschi, @EddyP73, @siriusbsnz, I checked with Customer Support and it looks like you already had a case with them and it's been resolved. Hope I can continue seeing you around.
@ScottMan I'm glad to hear that your Blaze starting working properly with your S8+.
@obryankl, @rosemarieilovey I'm sorry to hear that your notifications aren't working. I totally understand your frustration about it. However, our engineers are still investigating this issue, you may want to check the main thread for more information about it.
Thank you so much for your comments @wyatt2996. Currently, after the investigation with this notification issue, it looks like Samsung will need to release an update to have this resolved.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your Fitbit Ionic @SunsetRunner! 🙂

Best Answerty for responding to my message. I am definitely going to look into the Gear... My Galaxy s8+ synced perfectly with my Blaze until Fitbit did an app update. It IS NOT a problem with my phone or anyone's S8.
It is a Fitbit problem that they don't care to fix
Best AnswerActively working... it's almost December... this needs to be worked on around the clock... remember, we don't have to buy fitbit products, there are others out there but we chose to... if fitbit wanted to fix it, it would be fixed by now... it's been how many months... not brain surgery!!!
I feel the same way!! Fitbit got our $200.00 for the Blaze so they don't seem to care or be in any hurry...

Best AnswerHi, I'm not gonna to blindly defend Fitbit here. But (and it's a big but) I used to have a Blaze and an iPhone and Blaze worked fine. Then I change the iPhone for a S8+ and nothing worked as expected. The my lovely wife got me an Ionic and, surprise, all worked like charm. Recently Samsung released a firmware update for the S8+ and Ionic was dead. No sync, no notifications, no remote music control. Nothing.
Plus, since I got the S8+ my car's Bluetooth audio system is functioning erratically. I didn't have any of this problem with my old iPhone. My brother has an Abdroid LG, I gave him my old Blaze and guess what? No issues at all!
Some may think it is a Fitbit's problem, maybe is Samsung's. I don't know and I don't care.
The only think I care about is that I've been using Fitbit products for more than 6 years, and I've never had a problem with them (even when I used to use a Windows Phone as my main smartphone!). I have many data collected in the app (premium service). My problems (and not only with Fitbit's products) started when I impulsively changed my iPhone for the S8+. So, if you ask me... I will change the S8+ at the very first chance I get.
Oh, and for the record. Last night I installed the iPhone Fitbit app on my iPad and guess what? Worked perfectly!! And I didn't have to do anything after the login. No clear Bluetooth cache, no hard resetting, no installation of rare apks. Nothing.
For some, the solution is getting a Samsung Gear. For others like me is change the phone...
At this time I need that thing works and Samsung with Fitbit are not getting along very well..
Best AnswerI have the S8+ and I am having the same issues. I have enabled everything that it says and it still wont work. It will only connect to Bluetooth with Blaze (Classic)
Best AnswerI am having the same issue. I just bought the Blaze...but this is frustrating. I’ve tried all of the “troubleshooting” suggested. I think I will be sending this back.
