Currently the Fitbit tracker is designed to only connect to the Fitbit server through the Fitbit app.
Any third party app, has the ability to connect to your Fitbit data through Fitbit API.
If you do want to communicate your opinion to the Fitbit developers this will need to be done through the feature requests.
You might want to add your votes and comments here, I only see requests to allow polars to connect to Fitbit.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @ESH1 and @KarenUtt! 🙂 Pear or Polar Beat are currently not on the list of compatible apps. I would suggest to visit the Feature Request board and share your idea, since the previous one was archived due to inactivity. Don't forger to share the link! 😉 @Rich_Laue thanks for your cooperation! 😉
