I just got my Blaze. The set up was fine until I started charging it. The battery icon never showed on the screen. I also have a Charge and it charged using the same computer an hour before. Anyone have a problem charging the Blaze?

Got 2 Fitbit Blazes today. I unboxed the first one followed the instructions and put in the charger per Fitbit documentation. All that is displayed is the green and white diamond with the text Fitbit.com/Setup.
At no time has a battery symbol appeared similar to the instructions above. Nor has unplugging and re-plugging the charger, reseating the battery or any other giration I can think of make it appear.
Unboxed and plugged in the second unit and the way it acts is a carbon copy of the first one. I did notice that the cover does not fit tight over the module I wonder if the loose cover is not tight enough to keep the contacts of the case and the module seated correctly?
I am familar with the way other Fitbit products act when charging having used them for over 3 years.

@Twitchy - Have you set up the devices already? I didn't charge mine until after the set up, and it worked fine.

No because setting it up will negate everything I have done today unless Fitbit changed that. I'll switch over at midnight and see.
Every Fitbit I have owned I have plugged in, to get full charge, before I setup and sync. The worse thing that could happen is to start a setup or the typical update, for the new product, and have the battery run out of power.
I think its charging with out the battery icon. If I unplug it from the USB it comes on but when the display goes out and I plug it back in it lights up. Meaning to me the power is going to the module regardless of what the display is doing.
I find it strange that updating it causes the battery to appear. Makes me wonder if part of the programming is missing and thats what the update does.

@Twitchy You shouldn't lose any data - just sync your other device first. Hopefully when you try later on it will work for you. (I actually have 2 devices linked to mine - a Charge and the Blaze)

I feel like an idiot but I had my in upside down in the charger. Just take a look to make sure the points line up. Mine is charging fine now. Palm to forehead

Further my last posts.
The Blaze does not (at least mine didn't) show the battery symbol when it is plugged in before it is setup. After it was setup the batteyr symbol appeared. Since I didn't want to loose all my info from my Charge HR I waited to set it until at Midnight.
Once set up the battery sumbol showed up. It was fully charged since it was hooked to my computer from the time I received it (3PM) until midnight.
All is well thus far.

Got my new Blaze today, as a replacement for the one that didnt charge. Set it up immediately, and now it seems to charge fine.
One note, the battery icon was stuck at 1/2 way charged...but a restart seemed to help with that.

I tried placing it in the cradle at least 10 times. When it didn't charge using an AC adapter and a different USB cord, I called fitbit. They sent me a new Blaze that works fine.

New users to Fitbit and the fitbit community here,
I've tried to restart, shutdown my new blaze without any success. Attempted multiple computers, UL-certified chargers and I've notice one strange thing. When I have the Blaze in the cradle and plug it in it seems to be floating in it so I tried pushing down gently with two fingers (one on each side of the screen) and behold the charging logo showed up! Sadly as soon as I let it go it stopped charging, I opened it folded a piece of paper to apply even presure and closed it back and it charged.
I shouldn't have to do this to charge a new product, and I'm currently on hold with fitbit customer service to get a replacement. I love the product but this charging issue is making me very worried about quality.

Does the screen of the Blaze show www.fitbit.com/setup ? If it does show this message then, No you will never see any sign of your Blaze charging or the current state of the battery until it is connected to a Fitbit account.

I called Fitbit earlier, explained my problem and I'm having a replacement sent as well. I did manage to charge it fully with pieces of folded paper to make sure the Blaze was properly connected and not floating on top of the connectors even if the cradle was closed. Might of been a production issue or miss calculation.
Whatever the reason, after calling their support line, the customer service representive patiently listening to my problem and offering me a replacement ship overnight (sadly it's out of stock so a short delay) without having to argue means a good deal to me. Good customer service is rare, and I have to give them praises on how the situation was handled quickly and professionally!

I got a new Blaze and it never worked. Spent 2 hours on chat with there tech suipport for them to only lose the chat. I got it from Amazon and Fitbit wanted me to ship it back to them. Made no sense. Blaze wouldnt charge or reboot. Amazon took it back. Something is wrong with these things!

I'll bet there are thousands of satisfied Blaze owners in the wild. I'm not sure if your commenting or want help.

I ended up having to do the same thing! I put some folded kleenex in on top of my Blaze and shut the charging case and then the battery icon came on. Not a HUGE deal but I shouldn't have to do that. Will probably return to Amazon for a replacement.
