Brand new Fitbit Blaze won't charge straight out of the box.

Same, I just bought one yesterday. Tried numerous outlets and charge sockets. I did manage to get it set up but had to do so while leaving it on charge in cradle. Left overnight nothing. Moved to a different charger this morning, showed blue charge indicator on battery display, then few minutes later full and green. When I took it off the cradle however went blank, would not display and app stated no battery. Very disappointing, and see lot of the same complaints on the web. I will try a few things today and if nothing changes I will be returning it to the store.

Hey there @Db76 and @dberg, welcome to the Community.
Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourselves. I would like to know if you keep having issues charging your trackers? If you do, I recommend taking a look at this post and follow the instructions provided there.
