Strangely, Sue, mine is doing exactly the same thing. Started just before lunch time. Almost inpossible to read anything.

I was able to fix the problem by pushing the bottom button on the right side and the button on the left side at the same time and holding them until the flashing stopped. Have not had a flashing problem since.

Today I went through a similar scenario. Had problems yesterday with the Zone clock display but got that worked out after the FitBit support teams fixed the software glitch a lot of users were suffering through. After several restarts, all good. Last night put Blaze in charger cradle and went to bed. This morning phone app showed it stopped syncing with Blaze at 5AM. Checked Blaze, it was flashing the Fitbit logo. Took it out of cradle and flashing speed increased. Put it back in cradle, it slowed. Looked up problem in forums and it said try restart. So because I could not swipe to the settings screen, tried a manual restart by holding left button and bottom right button for 12 seconds. Nothing, still flashing. This continued despite several attempts at restart.  So left it alone for an hour, no good. Called Customer Support. Was happy to get a very knowledgeable agent who thanked me for looking up problem online and trying restarts. Told me to put back in charger and I answered a few questions on what I was seeing. A fix she suggested was turning off my phone's (Samsung Galaxy Note8) bluetooth (don't unpair Blaze). Also turned off syncing in phone app. Restarted bluetooth and then reset syncing in phone app. Blaze was still in charging cradle and after about 5 minutes it restarted and showed wrong time. Then I synced it in phone app and all was back to normal. Customer support is very helpful, call if all fixes fail 😉

Hope this helps others dealing with this flashing screen freeze problem!

Hey there @SueCole@BlueGryffin and @LissaH welcome to the Community.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourselves and for sharing the steps you did to fix your trackers. If you experience this again, as recommended, you can restart your trackers by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

How about the Fitnit 2; it has only one button. After a long press it says Notification off, but the screen still keeps flashing.

How do I totally reset the device?

Thanks.

Thank you this worked! Holding left button and bottom right took a bit of time to get it to stop but seems fine now.

Excuse the word, it's bull**ahem**.

This doesn't work at all. My display keeps flashing all the time.

No way to kill this, except using a hammer I guess.

My fitbit screen keeps on flickering. I have reset, hold left and right buttons in to reboot. nothing works!

What to do? It kills my battery. No notifications coming through.

Mine started doing this too tonight, the reset does not work.

@AlejandraFitbit My Blaze has been flashing the Fitbit logo since 5/29/19, and the reset solution doesn't solve the problem. Any other ideas? Sounds like @Deano10 and @Starjack has the same issue with no resolution. Please advise. Thanks.
