How do I delete messages?

Not sure if this will help or not but I have a Versa Lite and wanted to delete “friend request” notifications.  I finally found that I could swipe to the LEFT and a red delete button would appear.  Tap the button and the notification goes away.

Thank you for your reply. 

I have tried swiping, deleting, uninstalling and reinstalling fitbit app several times. There are over a years worth just "stuck" and will not delete. I ignore them. The only fix I guess since they are from 2017 and fitbit knows about the issue. I won't buy another fitbit when this one stops working for an unknown reason.

I thought that I'd tried all suggestions on the forum, I have just discovered that pressing and holding on the notification brings up a "Delete" box at the bottom of the screen, I'just got rid of notifications going back to November 2017  - result !!

• Based on this I returned to my app and you can now left swipe delete. Case closed.
