How do I delete messages?

Best Answer
104 REPLIES 104
1. All my notifications have been opened. All white.
2. The date range is from Nov. 2017 thru July2018. No other notifications
after that date.
3. I just completed uninstall, shut down the phone, and reinstalled Fitbit,
for the second time in recent weeks.
4. All notifications are still there and white.
The suggested fix, did not fix.
Thanks for keeping up the effort to get this solved.

What is the status of this, as this appears to be an app issue, not related to a specific model. I have in-app notifications from August 2017 until Jun 2018 in the app.  Why they mysteriously stopped after June 2018, I have no idea, but I can't delete these.fitbit1.jpgfitbit2.jpg

I have not heard anything either, it is a software problem.  Can’t understand why it has not been resolved yet.  Maybe  that is why Apple Watches are more expensive, they have better firmware and staff that can provide expedited fixed! Fitbit doesn’t seem to be able to do that.

Hi @Jayscism and @Jlbabbitt, it's nice to see new members around. I'm glad to hear from you @SKkid and @SunsetRunner.

I'm sorry for the delay in my response and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the issue with the red dot on the notifications tab. Our team is still investigating this situation and working on a resolution. I understand your position and be sure that your comments will not be taken for granted.

@Jayscism, regarding your other inquiry, let me share that these notifications were turned off by default in the Fitbit app based on our customer feedback. But you can turn them on by doing the following:

1. In the Fitbit app, tap on the account icon at the upper right corner.

2. Tap on notifications and make sure the toggle is on for each option.

3. Then go to your phone settings and tap on notifications.

4. Tap on Fitbit and turn the notifications off and on.

I'll be around if you need anything else.

Hi @SKkid, it's great to hear from you.

Thanks for trying our steps to continue receiving those notifications, and I'm glad to hear that the red dot disappeared. Let me explain that currently we don't have an option to delete those notifications, but as soon as you get new messages, the old ones will be deleted.

See you around.

I’m leaving Fitbit ,you’ve done nothing to clear all the scammers off of
this site! I’m disgusted, that people are having their groups they’ve
formed to combat this, and you’re taking it away! Shame on you fitbit!!!!

That’s not true. I haven’t been able to receive new messages since June 17, 2018. And the red dot is still there. The only this Fitbit is doing for me is tracking my activity. Boring, but it’s better than using my phone to track steps.

Yes me too, however don’t like that movement in time is not recognized unless you are doing 10 minutes of movement. I can have 10000 steps and no active time.

Hi @SunsetRunner, @Jlbabbitt and @SKkid. It's nice to see you around.

@SunsetRunner, thanks for sharing for your thoughts about your experience with the Fitbit app. Our team constantly works on our products to improve them, and be sure that your comments will not be taken for granted.

@Jlbabbitt and @SKkid, let me clarify the information provided through this thread. Currently we don't have an option to remove the notifications showing up in the Fitbit app, but once you have new messages, the old notifications will disappear. If you're not receiving new notifications but you wish to receive them, I'd suggest to try the steps posted above.

Regarding the red dot displayed on the notification tab, let me share that our team is aware of this situation and, while they're not able to provide a fix in the immediate future, they're currently working on this as well monitoring the impact to you and other customers. I understand your position and your feedback is appreciated.

@SKkid, about your other inquiry, let me explain that the active minutes will vary depending on the intensity of your activities. If an activity gives you active minutes one day and fewer active minutes the next day, remember that the intensity of exercise is key. You can find more about this here.

Keep me posted.

Same thing happened to me with update last month.  New update today and it didn't fix this old issue or the new one with text messages not displaying on Fitbit.

My Fitbit updated a while back and I still have a years year's worth of notifications stuck.
Patience is what's needed. I hope they're making it a priority.
