How do I delete messages?

Hi @event

From the Fitbit Article:

Fitbit Blaze can store up to 30 notifications, after which the oldest are replaced as new ones come in. Notifications delete automatically after 24 hours. Your tracker can show up to 32 characters of a subject and up to 160 characters of a text message.

To manage notifications:

  • On the clock, swipe up to see your notifications and tap any notification to expand it for more detail.
  • On a notification, swipe right to delete it.
  • To delete all notifications at once, swipe down to the bottom of your notifications and tap Clear All.
  • If a text notification is long, swipe down to scroll through the entire contents of the text.
  • To exit the notifications screen, press the Back (left) button.

I know😢😢I thought it was 30 days but it’s not. I have some that are 45
days and I wish you could just swipe them away.

I have like 7 messages all from the same guy 86 days ago who kept trying to get me to talk to him.  I told him off and want to delete but can’t?!  Can I at least block him so he never harassed me again?

Hi I had similar issues after reading this trend I deleted all all notifications on my blaze and the messages disappeared. I guess it’s worth a try

I blocked people that were harassing me and their msgs are still there so I
don’t think so. Which is really too bad!

Yeah that’s true for me too and it sucks!

Hello @Irishlassie7, @SunsetRunner, @SunsetRunner und @Baitrunner1. Welcome to the Community. As it was correctly mentioned above, Blaze can store up to 30 notifications, after which the oldest are replaced as new ones come in. Notifications delete automatically after 24 hours. For those who are not able to delete notifications, or they constantly reappear after being deleted, I suggest that you restart your tracker: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

@SunsetRunner if you want to stop receiving notifications from certain users, you should block them on the specif app they are contacting you through. If they are contacting you through the Fitbit App you can follow this instructions: How do I delete or block Fitbit friends?

@Baitrunner1 thank your for sharing your solution.

Let me know if it worked!

I need to know how delete msgs.
Best Answer

Thank you for your reply @SunsetRunner, you should be able to delete a notification by opening it and swiping right, or to delete all notifications at once, you can swipe down to the bottom of your notifications and tap Clear All. Could you please confirm if you have tried with these options, and notifications are not being deleted?

If you're still having trouble, please make sure you've tried the steps mentioned here earlier as well. Let me know how the device is performing after the troubleshooting suggested. Are notifications being deleted?

Keep me posted.

It’s the actual messages I’m trying to delete I don’t care about
notifications per se. Dude messaged me 8 times 8 months ago. I’ve blocked
and reported him but when I go to messages the old messages remain. Can’t
swipe on them and no easy way to delete!

Can’t get rid of the notifications but I’m more concerned about the countless msgs asking me if I’m married. Most of these are from scammers, so I would like to know how to delete them ?

Same! I have a message from

someon I don’t even know and cannot delete it! Everyday it alerts me I have a “new” message but it’s always the same old one over 87days old!!

Hi @Irishlassie7@Smilez78@SuperKris5, @SunsetRunner and @SunsetRunner. Thank you for your replies. For those who are still having the notifications on the Blaze, have you tried already restarting it? If you are concerned about messages in the app, please note that these should be deleted automatically after 30 days. Currently there's a bug, so most likely they will still appear. We have already escalated this situation, so our engineers are aware of it.

Thank you for your understanding.
