How to reset your Fitbit Blaze. A Solution!

Hi all,

I had an issue where I did not sync my Fitbit blaze for a few days ( ok weeks) and then when I finaly did try to sync it, the sync would start then get a portion of the way through, then restart the sync again. It was stuck in a Sync loop. This quickly drained my Fitbit Blaze as well as my iPhone.

I tried everything I could find on this forum. I deleted the app, restarted the Blaze 3 times. Installed the app again, loged in, then when I would get to the part of the new device setup where it asked for the 4 digit code the proccess would just stop and the iPhone app would just say "Connecting to Fitbit..."

After much fustration, I finaly figured out two things that fixed it for me.

1. I went into the Settings App, Then to the Bluetooth, Then under My Devices, I deleted the Blaze.

After doing this I deleted the iOS app then downloaded it again, restarted the blaze for good measure. Then this time it got past the code part of the setup.

2. My Wife has a fitbit with her own account. I could not get the Blaze to connect to my account after i deleted the app, so for kicks I added the blaze to her account. This caused all of my data to be removed from the device, this updated the date and time as well. Which were incorrect for me for some reason, maybe its the lack of syncing it for a few weeks. Then I deleted the Blaze from my wifes fitbit account, then went back to my iPhone and added the device again and this time the Blaze was setup correctly.

I did loose all the steps that the Blaze had stored that had never synced. But the risk and cost of not syncing the Blaze every day.

I spent many hours trying to figure out how to Reset my Blaze to delete the data off the device so that I could get past whatever was causing the sync to fail. In the end I belive the blaze will reset it self if its added to another fitbit users account.

Give this a go and let me know if it works for you.
