Inaccurate distance calculated

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have compared the distance Fitbit is showing as compared to other fitness devices or apps are inaccurate. Other devises or apps are like TomTom, Runkeeper or Strava etc.

Request if you can suggest how to get it rectified. It calculates100 metres less in every kilometre walk or run.

Fitbits calculate distance by multiplying your step count by the stride length in your profile settings.

So, either your fitbit is missing steps or the stride length is too short.

You can test the step counting by pacing out 100 steps and seeing how many your fitbit counted.

You can measure and update your stride length using the procedure documented here: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1135

Are you comparing the device with others for any specific purpose?  Do you have a very particular distance goal? I'd link to GPS for this purpose or just consider each Fitbit day relative to the last/next.

Hi

Yes I am using this for calculating at which pace I am running so that I can improve. I have 21km(half marathon) in target to achieve.

Are you recording with GPS and have a map of your run to review?
