Live communication with the app in exercise mode

One thing I liked about my Charge HR is that while tracking a workout, I could bring the app up on my phone and see live data. This doesnt seem possible with the Blaze. Anyone know why that is?

Since you cant view the days stats while tracking a workout, it was really nice to look it up while out on a walk or run like with the Charge HR. With the Blaze, it doesnt sync live data. It will sit for an extreme amount of time saying its syncing, then it will says "synced a moment ago". The blue "connected" icon never comes up like it does when you're not in a "exercise". With the Charge HR, it connects and you can see live step count and up to the second increases of all other stats. With the Blaze, you can not.

To get somewhat close to a representation of my total stats for the day, I found that after I sync, I immediatly bring up the FitBit dashboard in my mobile browser. Here the stats are still a little behind, but they're closer to "live" than whats displayed on the app.

One thing that is part of my workout routine while walking and/or running is doing floors. With the Charge HR, a floor count was something that could be scrolled through while in a workout and it could be brought up in the app. With the Blaze, they omitted the number of floors climbed while walking. It seems kind of obvious, but flooors should be something you should be able to scroll through. Actually whats displayed while tracking a walk in exercise mode could use some tweaking.

@MikeS1971 Welcome to the Community! Yes, you’re able to have live communication with your Blaze and app. The same as you had with your Charge HR. You just need to make sure that you have the word “connected” in the app and as soon as you have a good internet connection and Bluetooth on, while you want the live communication, it should work properly. Please check the screenshot below to see what “connected” should look like.

As you mentioned that you weren’t having live communication, please restart your Blaze and your mobile device and check if you tracker connects.

Hope this helps.

I only get the "Connected" and live tracking icon while NOT tracking and exercise. If I track an exercise like a run or walk, the app will never say "connected" and the blue tracking icon will never appear until I end the exercise.

Restarting the Blaze, Phone or app changes nothing. After nearly four months, five Blazes and two phones, the problem still persists.

(The Blazes were replaced under warranty for other issues unrelated to this)
