Logging steps while tracking a bike ride

I have found that my fitbit logs around 1000 steps for every 10 miles i ride, even when I have the exercise tracking on for the ride.  It doesn't add distance traveled on foot, just step count.

For the arm movement, your tracker might detect some steps while you are biking. Can you please provide me with some screenshots of this information by following the instructions provided in this post? Also, keep in mind that to successfully connect your phone with your tracker it needs to be a compatible mobile device.
