Hi everyone! Just two quick questions about the Blaze's notifications system:
1) From my understand, "text message notifications" on the Surge are limited to SMS messages, meaning iMessages between iPhones do not show up on the device. Is this also true for the Blaze? Almost all of my contacts that I text on my iPhone 6 are also iPhone users, so all of their texts are iMessages. Will none of these show up on the Blaze?
2) From my understand, the Surge only shows single most recent text message, as in if you miss a text notification, a newer text will erase the old notifcation. Is this also true for the Blaze, or will it be possible to view all of the unread notifications from texts?

@EmersonFitbit wrote:@Hitz As a reminder, only one of these messaging applications will work at a time, so use wisely.
Hi Emerson - i dont understand why only one message application can be used at a time. Surley the Bluetooth protocol allows communication between the App on the phone and the Blaze, anything data can be transmitted. So this is a designed software limitation of the app itself? Surley this can be fixed by a simple software update?

I am interested in the fitbit blaze and I understand that it will show phone call and text message notifications, but does it only show the notifications or can you use the blaze to respond by texting and calling from the watch?

Hello @Kippo and @kate25 welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here 😉 @Kippo that's a great idea, I would suggest to visit our feature request board, this is the best place to make your voice heard, our product developers visit this board regularly to make sure customer are getting what they want and need. I found this idea: Tracker Notifications for More Apps you can vote for it and add your comments. @kate25 as mentioned by @SunsetRunner the Blaze will only receive the notifications. On iOS devices you can answer the call, this feature is not available for Android users. You can read more on the Blaze Notifications Information Post
I'll be around if you have any questions.

You cannot respond to notifcations from the watch itself.

I just spoke to Fitbit about a problem I was having with not receiving my calendar notifications. I would put an event on my calendar but it would not pop up on the Blaze. The problem turned out to be that I did not put an alert on my iphone calendar for it to show up 5 min., 10 min or whatever time before the event itself. So I spent a lot of frustration thinking it was a Blaze problem when in fact it was user error. Hope this will help someone.

@AngelaMa - Hello Angela, @Majestak asked a question a while back and as I read through the posts I didnt see an answer. The issue is when I get consecutive messages, regardless if they come from the same person or not, they all get lumped in as 1 and all I see is a notification stating "2 new texts" and the person or persons names. When this happens, I have no way of reading the messages or at least none that I've figured out. If I get 1 message at a time with a minute or so in between, I dont have the issue.
Has this come up in other conversations, by other users, or do you have a suggestion?

@NeneLoco this question has come up many times, and the answer is almost always tye same. Change your messageing app.
If your using an android device, with the default messaging app, we dont know which app your using, but you are receing messages the wqy Android is setup to display them. You would also see that they show on the phones lock screen this way.
I use Google Messanger to get around Androids limitation.

Hello @Shineom123 and @michel76, welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂 @Shineom123 You can select only one of your message applications to receive the notifications. You can read more about notification on the Blaze Notifications Information Post. @Suzeeh thanks for your cooperation! 🙂 @michel76 currently it's not possible to receive message notifications from several applications, I would suggest to add your vote and comments to the idea: Tracker Notifications for More Apps on the feature request board. @NeneLoco If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text. @Rich_Laue thanks for the cooperation! 🙂
Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂

Yes it is true thwy only one messaging app at a time, but suppose tge comunity made a program that Fitbit sees as a messaging app, and this app will look at all your other apps that give notofacation, passes them on to Fitbit, who dosplays them on the tracker.
In the android app store their are 3 such programs.
For me i get on my wrist, Fitbit notifacations, email headers and senders name, facebook popups, my phones weather warnings, google plus, Google rewards, and of course my text messages.

Hello @amazingstephani yes you can only use one message notification at the time. The idea for

OK but in the future Blaze will be able to display messages from other apps like Viber? I using viber instead of iMessage. You know, not all friends have Apple products but they all have viber, messenger os whatsapp.

Hello @kgbman I can not answer your questions as I don't have any information about this but I noticed that on the idea I shared above the user is not mentioning Viber, make sure to add your comment requesting this app to be compatible with notifications.
Thanks for stopping by!
