New Blaze can't set up.

After comparing this watch to Apple watch I chose the Blaze. It arrived yesterday and is already going back today. So disappointing. First the app won't load on Windows 10. Spends 5 minutues searching then says can't find it and stops so I cannot sync. This means when I make changes they don't happen because they need to sync.

Next it freezes every time I choose the day summary. It will slide up and down but that's it. It won't go to home screen. It doesn't recognize touch except for up and down and the buttons on the band dont' work at all.. So basically I have to stare at the days summary which makes the watch somewhat useless.

so called and they gave me label for my $200 inconvenience to send it back! BOO was really excited but guess Apple watch it is. Costs more but works I am told

Seems like you got a fauly Blaze and exchanging it for a new one would have fixed those issues. While the AW can do a lot more than the Blaze when it comes to the smart watch features no one comes close to doing fitness like Fitbit. The AW while nice is very lacking in the fitness department compared Fitbit and other fitness trackers.

Personally I'm going with my Fitbit Charge for fitness and an AW for everything else. Though rumor has it we may actually see a Fitness band or loop from Apple next week during there Spring event on the 21st to work alongside the AW.

The Blaze blows the Surge out the water.
I had recourse and sent it back, these green and backlight are pants.
The blaze screen is amazing.
Plus the Apple watch is twice the price.

I truly believe you got a defective Blaze so I would just get a new one and give it another try.

I have had every fitbit released so far. By far, until the Blaze, my favorite was my charge. However, now the blaze is my favorite 'cause it has everything the Charge does and gives me more options.

As for the AW, I purchased the AW Sport and returned it 2 days later. The AW is a gorgeous watch, don't get me wrong, but it is so limited in and like someone else say - it takes over your iPhone so if you don't hear the phone alert you then you will miss the notifications. Plus for being a "sport" watch, it did not count your steps or active minutes.

I am much happier with the Blaze and I got 2 of them for the price of my AW. In comparing the Blaze and Surge, you will be much happerier with the Blaze. Sure the Surge has built in gps, but I assume 9 out of 10 times you will have your phone with you so you will have gps that way. I think the gps is more accurate using the Blaze with phone than just the Surge.

I calmed down from being highly disappointed and frustrated and am sending it back for a full refund BUT I just bought another blaze and the surge to try them both and see which I like better and in hopes that I just got a lemon this time!

thanks!Smiley Very Happy

I agree it sounds like you got a defective one. The Blaze isn't a "smart watch" so to compare it to an Apple Waych will leave you disappointed. It's a fitness tracker with some smart watch features.

I'm loving my Blaze, especially compared to my Charge HR. The screen is quite responsive (my 1 yr old loves swiping it from side to side ).

I had an Apple Store employee tell me not to buy an Apple Watch yet, to many problems need to be worked out.

I was not in the store as a customer but as a contractor

When on the today screen it will not swipe back to the clock face. You must hit the left button.

I have the Apple watch and there are very few problems to work out. I just do not like it taking over the notifications on my iPhone. The Apple watch is not the best fitness tracking device.

I am back to my Charge HR as for the size it does everything the Blaze does and is much smaller and lighter. No real crazy about the Blaze styling.

Thanks for the input. I will be interested to see. The surge has GPS though and sounds like that might be of some benefit. I suppose as soon as I keep the Blaze a new one will come out with GPS! Not sure why they would not have put GPS on first go round

I have an HR now and thought I would love the Blaze. Hopefully it was defective. do you mind not having GPS?

Couldn't agree more. Hate my new Blaze. Going to give it a week. Biggest complaints:

Doesn't use the same charger as my wife's HR

Too big - gets in the way doing pull-ups/push-ups

touch screen is anything but intuitive

doesn't come on with the wrist flick

Doesn't sync consistently with my phone.

Lack of GPS for something this large is surprizing

If I have to carry my phone to listen to music, why wouldn't I just play/control the music directly from there instead of the dumb controls on the Fitbit?

I really love the Blaze, raise my worst and a gentle twist the display comes on. It's not bulky like the GPS featured Surge, but still is able to, as the AW does, use the HPS on the phone. On walks being able to touch the worst to control music is a lot twitter than jamming to unzip then pull the phone out of its pouch. It's easier to read text messages without the need to pull the phone out.

My biggest complaint that the interface is not consistent between screens, with some a press of a button or a tap of the screen, while other screens you need to tap or press. This requires constant switching back and forth between buttons and the screen.

What kind of phone do you have? I've never had a syncing issue. Have you tried resetting the blaze by holding in the left and bottom right buttons?
