Notifications not working - Samsung S8+

Got a new Blaze, but it does not seem to be fully comunicating with my phone.  Here is what I have:

 

Phone: Samsung S8+

Device is paired with the Fitbit app.  Message notification is enabled.  On the notifications tab: Calls = on,  notification widget = off, encryption = on.

 

When I send a test notification I get nothing.
