I received a Fitbit Blaze as a gift. I noticed that when I clap the step count increases. How is this remedied?

Hello @TPG68, the easiest way would be to stop clapping. Your tracker i mounted on the wrist and therefore is looking for.arm motions that it thinks it should see when the legs are stepping. There are times that the arm motions will confuse the tracker and false steps will be recorded. On the other rnd, there will be times when tye feet are moving, but the arms are not properly moving and steps will not be recorded.
One thing you could try, if it is not set this way, is to set the tracker as if it is on the dominant arm. This will rule out more false steps.

A warm welcome to the Community @TPG68 and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by.
As mentioned by our friend, since you wear your tracker on your wrist, it might take your hands movements as steps. You can restart your Blaze and take the tips provided by our friend in consideration to reduce the amount of steps recorded.
Catch you later.

Thanks for your assistance but I was hoping there was a different solution and not a work-around. I had a Fitbit flex and it didn't seem to respond to only arm movements. I guess by making it more sensitive to different motions they reduce its step accuracy. Thanks again.
