Steps and distance not counting

Just went on a 6 mile walk (known distance) Fitbit blaze only counted 7000 steps and 5.5 km. This discrepancy started a couple of days ago with steps and distance. I have tried restarting my Fitbit with no luck.

@SteveT101 you keep saying that you went 6 miles but your Blaze reports 5.5 KM which would be 3.4 miles and closer to what 7000 steps would be. 

Is your personal settings set for miles or metric?

My personal settings are metric but the trail I was walking is measured in miles.
