Text and Whatsapp notification issues on Blaze since update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I used to receive both text and Whatsapp notifications on my Blaze from my HTC M8 but since the update I can only receive one or the other. Reading the help info it looks as though I should have only ever been able to receive notifications from one all along. Has anyone else had this happen? I really don't understand why the limit is in place when clearly it is possible to receive texts and whatsapp messages. It's very annoying as I use both equally.

I had a similar issue after the update with my Blaze and HTC Desire 620. Prior to the update to version 2.25 I could get Whatsapp, text and calendar notifications. After the update they all stopped and the only way I could get them back temporarily was unpairing the phone from the Blaze, disable notifications in the app, restart the phone and Blaze and set everything up again.

I found they worked until the phone connected to my Cars Bluetooth the following morning and stopped again.

I downgraded the app to version 2.24 and have had no problems since.

Welcome to the Community @Theo1967 and @pixxelchic it's great to see you around! If your trackers are not receiving notifications, I recommend checking if your phone is a Compatible Mobile Device. After checking this, please follow @MarreFitbit's instructions in the My tracker isn't receiving notifications post.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Thanks for the response @AlejandraFitbit but my issue isn't problems receiving notifications, it is that I used to receive notifications from both text and whatsapp to my Blaze and now I can only receive one or the other at a time depending on which option is chosen from the menu. Unfortunately my phone won't allow me to delete the latest updates to the app either so I am stuck. My friend has also had this issue with her Blaze so I assume it is caused by an app update. It's just frustrating that the ability to receive message notifications from multiple sources is clearly there, it is just not being utilised by Fitbit for whatever reason. It is a step backwards for them to have limited this not forwards and is starting to make my husband reconsider which smart watch he will buy too.

I updated the app to the latest version (2.26) to see if there was any improvement. Notifications were working again but I also could only have text messages or Whatsapp, not both. Rather than downgrade again I managed to find Bitticker and installed that, I can now get all notifications including e-mail and whatever apps I choose to see notifications from.

Thanks for your replies guys @pixxelchic and @Theo1967. Yes, I know! That happened to me too but it is part of the new Fitbit app update. It would be great to receive texts and whatsapp notifications and I recommend sharing this suggestion at our Ideas Board. Since I didn't find any suggestion about this you can create a new topic for the request of it.

Keep the stepping up! Woman Happy
