Thermometer Warning low battery

Warning Icon?

This afternoon I placed my Blaze in the charger. When I came back there was the thermometer of death sign. I took it out of the charger. It was very hot. The charger is now where near heat and there is a fan that cools the room nearby - the inside temp is climate controlled at 72C.  It is the same charger and port I have used for over two years.  Now there are no blinking green lights and there seems to be no way to reset the watch. From reading through the different forums, the suggestion is to reset the watch but that will not happen with the battery so low. Any suggestions?

Just to add to my previous post, my iPhone app says the Blaze is fully charged and ready to go. I have synced it 3 times and it has the same response. I started using my Blaze on Sept. 2, 2015, and this is the first time it has had any issues. What is the average life-span of the watch?

I've never run across this issue, even when it's 30 below zero or charging it all day while I play Overtime in Grand Theft Auto Online, in the tundra we call Canada. Specifically Toronto, Ontario. South Park calls it something else I won't mention, since this is a PG rated forum. They do say it's respectable.

As for your average lifespan of a watch, well, a good rule of thumb is go with the average lifespan of a cellphone, if you subsidize it. 24 months. I based this, because you can obtain some phones subsidized, meaning you pay x amount of dollars up front and pay off the rest on your monthly statement. But before I used a Fitbit, watches (Timex) ones would last me about 6 years, before I replaced them. My first Timex lasted me for 12 years (1990-2002). But this was before pedometers, and Fitbits and whatever else is floating around out there now.

The watch should last until a successor to the Blaze is made, maybe even more than that. It's just like the iPhone or a Samsung. If you say 2015, and it's giving you that, then by using my formula, you might have to replace it.

For the record, from the time the Low Battery warning comes on my phone to full charge, plugged into my Xbox One S, it takes 75-120 minutes to fully charge.

Charge it in freezer when completely dead and keeps overheating. Slows reactants, less current=less heat

Exact same scenario happened with my blaze this evening, temp warning icon and hot device. What are my options? TIA 🙂

- blaze had frozen logo screen.  happened many times battery was half charged just before.  was shutting down intermittently (and of course at worst possible times - last time it totally died just at start of a 5K if Buffalo - arrgh!).

2 button reset/start - no effect. Also, the so-called "connecting gps" of the Blaze to cellphone - actually worked maybe 10% of the time - so frustrating;  - makes that 'feature' a highly disappointing sham that borders on false claims/advertising.  Seems so many users have pblms with Blaze' software/hardware it should be recalled or genuinely upgraded.  It is so unreliable and I paid $200 for it at BJ's only 5 mos ago- now too long to rtn it to BJ's.    - feel really ripped off .  I'm thinking I just should have gone Garmin.

And, it all makes me wonder if I should have given up my Blaze model - at least the skin rash with that one was manageable.   Even so If improved fitbit Blaze-type model becomes available I would try it as I like the fitbit style and features - if and when they work.

Clarification of preceding comment :

- makes we wonder if I should have given up my FORCE (not Blaze) model due to rash ...
