I updated my Blaze last night to 17.8.301.7. I don't track my sleep so I take it off every night and turn it off to conserve the battery. When I turned it back on this morning it still said it was 9:32 PM 9/27/16, not 5:15 AM on the 28th. I tried turing it off and back on again. It would not reset to the correct date and time until I opened the App on my iPhone. I have all day sync on and the auto timezone. I've had my Blaze for 4 months and never had this happen until the update. I'd really hate to have to sync the second I wake up every day or leave my Blaze on and have my battery die faster. I hope this was a fluke or they fix it.

Hi there @svankley. Welcome to the Fitbit Community!
At the moment, turning off your tracker and turning it back on right after that shouldn't mess up the time. It's when for example you turn it off at night and you turn it on in the morning that you'll need to get it to sync to display the correct time.
Now, the tracker will rely on the automatic time zone on your phone. If you travel to a different country, you will not have to change the time manually as it will adjust by syncing to your phone. That's the reason why it's important for it to sync to your phone.
Any other question you may have, let us know! 🙂

I only got around to updating last week and given I switch my blaze off every night (it's too big to sleep with it on) I've been really frustrated that I need to sync every morning to reset the time. This is a dreadful glitch and I cannot believe it's not been resolved, it didn't happen before so why can't it be reversed! To make matters worse after syncing this morning my time has reset but my stats have not. The TZ workarounds are not acceptable for such a modern and popular piece of tech.
This is infuriating particularly as both problems seem to have been happening for months reading other posts. Poor customer service Fitbit! I guess I'll be switching as well....

Why do you switch it off? There is no need for it.

For one it conserves battery, plus the alerts continue to buzz and have woken me up in the past. Plus it really shouldn't be a problem.

People have different reasons for switching it off, as mentioned in various comments above. Just because you don't have a problem keeping it on, doesn't mean others don't want it to be switched off and on without issue. Since I originally posted about my other half having issues with his fitbit and bus driving causing steps and stairs to be added incorrectly and syncing issues, he has totally given up on his fitbit because of this. It's now a useless bit of junk in a drawer for him.

Hi there @R-Loughlin @TTPsyc @The_Lion. Great to see you in the Community Forums!
I totally understand that there are reasons why some users might want to turn their trackers off at night and there are reasons why most others will choose to keep the tracker on while their sleep and both situations are valid.
Now, that's the way that the tracker is working at the moment so in order to keep the time correct on your tracker after the battery has died or you have turned it of for a considerable amount of time, you need to sync it to your dashboard. This doesn't take more than one or two minutes to complete.
If you have any more questions, let me know and I'll be happy to help!
