I'm curious, will the Blaze have an option to turn Bluetooth off/on? The pros are outlined elsewhere nicely, but since the Blaze has a menu system it should be a pretty trivial change (it's just a software flag after all). Pretty much anything that looks like a smartwatch has an "Airplane" mode.
I'm assuming it does, but I'd rather confirm 🙂
Google did not provide me the answer to this. Also I'd ask that if you want to discuss pros/cons of the feature you toss them into the thread above (where it looks like Fitbit staff is actually reading).

Blaze doesn't ship with the ability to disable Bluetooth (the "Airplane mode" so to speak). You'll have the ability to toggle BT Classic on/off/pair mode, but that's related to certain phones that aren't optimized for Music Control using regular BT.
Hope this helps provide a bit of clarification.

@Julia_G I don't know, airplane mode is fairly ubiquitous. It's only Fitbit's Surge take on Bluetooth that has me asking since it was excluded. However, I am waiting to click buy until I get an answer. It's not critical for me but always good to know exactly what you are buying.

When you look at the competition it's a pervasive feature, not really an opinion. I asked a question here hoping that someone with a factual answer would reply.
The product documentation doesn't state one way or the other and of the 10 reviews or so that I've read that hasn't been addressed yet either. Whether FitBit decided to include the feature was clearly up to product development, and I included a link to a thread discussing merits simply to discourage anything except a "Yes" or "No" response to this post so that it could inform my (and others) decision to pre-order. Nothing less, nothing more.
So yeah, I'm asking a factual question awaiting a factual answer from someone who has hands on experience with the product. Given it's pre-release status, that likely means a Fitbit employee.

Sorry you think that, it's not the intent. I've seen you around posting this question often enough over the last couple of weeks, however, that I assumed you were well aware of the standard Fitbit policy approach on this point from all the other answers you've already debated in other threads.

No worries Mike, will edit posts when back from lunch.
First post on Bluetooth. I made a handful of comments around waterproofing (mostly trying to get clear answers), but that's it. Fitbit's are otherwise perfect in my opinion and I'll likely go another 5 years without a post once I get the BT answer 🙂
For waterproofing I've now come to the conclusion that the answer is "no, not at all" from a being safe perspective. Which is fine, I'll live with it.
Now just nailing down Bluetooth, and I'll pre-order the Blaze. It really is a stellar device and I love the ecosystem.

@Rich_Laue Appreciate you merging the threads. We are actually still waiting for an answer here too if this is a feature or not. So far I've been unable to find any documentation and nobody on this thread has hands on experience or insight into whether the Blaze has an airplane mode.
Hopefully along with the merging someone from Fitbit will respond with a solid yes or no 🙂

As an ability to turn off BT would be a feature different from all other Fitbit trackers to date, I think we can be confident that it would have been announced if it were included on the Blaze.

I was wondering the same thing... Since I usually put my phone in airplane mode at night because I don't like the idea of having electromagnetic waves around even at night I think my best option is to either take the Blaze off at night or shutting it off right?
