Thanks for getting back and for the updates on this @NJT78@AngryEngineer, and @Smkagkinde! Please go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove the tracker. In the list of Bluetooth devices you'll see the Charge 3 and next to it, this symbol "!". Hit the symbol and it will take you to the next step, once you're there select the option that says "Forget this device" for iOS and "Unpair" for Android.

Once you've made sure about that, go back to the Fitbit app, go to the "Account" option in the upper right corner and select "Set up a Device". This should start the setup process for your device. Smiley Very Happy Always make sure that the Fitbit app is up-to-date

Hey there @MrWalk, it's nice to see you around! I'm glad to hear that your Charge 3 is syncing fine now. Thanks for sharing the steps you took in order to sort this out.

I'll be around if you need me guys!

Yep. Same issue here. Won't sync to my Galaxy S8. Took over 2 hours to set the thing up to begin with.

Best Answer

I can't sync either.

Well, that makes 4 of us on opening day.  Mine is a bluetooth issue.  The tracker paired easily, and it synched.  Then, I did the rest of set up and -- crickets.  I checked bluetooth on my phone, and it claimed the tracker was still paired, but I unpaired it; and then, tried to pair it again, and my phone couldn't find it at all.

I have just rebooted pursuant to instructions on this page.  I can't believe you have to plug it in to reboot it.  That just sucks.

Ok, I rebooted -- got the smiley face but no vibration.  Anyway, then my phone scanned for bluetooth devices and found it.  So, I tried pairing, and it said unable to pair check the tracker's settings.

Eventually solved the problem with an update to the Fitbit app and a restart, as well as re-pairing the device with my phone. Took a long time to get this up and running, but all now appears well.

Best Answer

How do you reboot?

Your problem is the exact same as mine and my fitbit wont even pair with my workphone.

I have plugged the fitbit in the charger and held the button but get nothing

EDIT: I got frustrated that the reboot would not work nor anything else so I chose to go ahead and go to "about" and chose to clear all user data. Really sucks because I did not get to log my first nights sleep or my workout this morning 😞 . Atleast it is synced now and I do not have to go to such measures again.

I, too, deleted the tracker and started over.  That appears to have worked.  I haven't tested notifications yet, but it is syncing steps.  BTW, I checked the app for updates (none), deleted the tracker, turned off bluetooth on the phone, restarted the phone (Galaxy S9), turned on bluetooth, then reinstalled.

At this point I am cautiously optimistic.

My Charge 3 synced yesterday but today it will not sync.

I tried turning off and on and uninstalling and reinstalling but it will not sync and the Charge 3 no longer shows up as an option with my iphone in bluetooth

All these problems are not a good advert for the new charge 3. I had already took my first one back to the shop because it would not charge. Hope you sort it out.

Plug the device in for charging. Reboot by pressing the haptic feedback panel on the side (where the button was on the Charge 2) for 8 seconds. It should reboot at that point.

Done this. Had to do it twice and restart the phone before it would work.

I was having issues with syncing - it worked last night but today bluetooth was not working after trying everything recommended but now several hours later it decided to sync without any issues.

So I am hoping it is all sorted now

Looking to device compatibility page (fitbit.com/devices) Galaxy S9 should works at all. Unfortunately they limit declaring which features are compatible without mentioning which aren't supported. Galaxy S8 doesn't look fully compatible since lacks of connected GPS and MobileTrack features. Since I ordered special edition that is not out yet, I canceled the order waiting for further news. I previously downloaded Fitbit app stumbling in issue about distance estimation (NOTE: this without band, just MobileTrack, discovering only after that it's not compatible). I thought that was a more easy-friendly device.

Please, let me know if connected GPS looks works and distance estimation with and without phone looks plausible (I compared it with S-Health and just MobileTrack without any band by Fitbit doubles that distance estimation in their app).

PS. I noticed that some user posted in other areas of this forum about issue with Google Pixel 2 (that is currently not compatible) and it looks that after some Android updates now is completely working.

Mine worked great the first 2 days (iPhone 7; my mom has the Pixel 2 and hers had the syncing issues yesterday and we both got them on Sunday) but this morning it wouldn't sync.  I tried turning bluetooth off then on as well as restarting my phone.  Then I had to Google how to restart it and you have to plug it in to restart?? Like I want to carry that cable around with me everywhere I go.

However, restarting it this morning did allow it to sync, but it hasn't since then and it's now 3 hours later.  Of course I don't have the stupid cable with me so I won't be able to try until after school tonight.

If this continues tomorrow, I'm returning this piece of junk!  Especially since it's giving me 100+ steps every time I drive to or from work.  Have a driving mode or something that allows you to not count steps.  Seems pretty basic to me, no?

Hello, thank you for all the details you've provided, and welcome to the Community @Simo67@soadokdls, @SunsetRunner, @1770@leduck@walkiegirl@ElaineOK@MichaelWaters92

Also, thank you for sharing all the steps that have worked for you, do let me know if you're still experiencing trouble to sync. However, if you're still having problems, please confirm if your phone is listed here as a compatible device; remember that if a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch,  however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.

And make sure that you've followed all the steps listed here as well: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? These are usually the best way to avoid syncing problems.

Please keep me posted on the outcome.

Mine is doing the same thing and I still can’t get it to work. Tired on several phones and no luck.

Had it 24 hours. Synced, updated, worked all day until 9:11pm then stopped syncing.  Tried all here. Tried charging. Doesn’t seem to charge anymore.  Tried to reboot on the charger cable but no luck.  It randomly vibrates like it is getting intermittent presses.  No indication if charging or rebooting.  Lemon? Have rebooted phone Bluetooth off/on removed device etc.  help!

Not at all - after an initial two-hour long update, I have now had to relink my device to my phone and laptop on at least three occasions, cumulatively wasting another two hours. Now I can not sync at all. I just give up as I have spent too much time on this. Other than that, on paper, the charge 3 did seem to have improved functionality, but alas, if you can't sync, it is little better than useless. I am returning the charge 3 and looking at Garmin products

I'm having the same issue. I got it yesterday (early birthday gift, thanks Mom) and it paired fine, synced automatically at 1929 yesterday but it won't get past "looking" now.
