Sadly, the Charge 5 does not have an altimeter, so there will never be a stair count for the Charge 5.  That is the main reason I didn’t buy one.

Totally agree

I got this to replace my Charge 4, which broke just off of warranty.

I hike in a mountainous city, for exercise. Not registering floors climbed today on my first day wearing the Charge 5 is making my blood boil. Also feel like I am wasting my time wearing it and should replace it immediately.

How about a heads up, Fitbit? Don't buy the new product, it's inferior with a higher price!

how does charge 4 compare

i was also told by customer service at fitbit if enough people complained that they did want the stair app back that they would add the app back

don't know if this is true or not

Try the Sense maybe. It has an altimeter. 🙂

The Charge 5 has no altimeter. If you just bought it return it. I believe the Sense and Versa 3 have altimeters

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

I've moved some of your posts to this thread so we can keep the forums organized. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the Charge 5. I understand how important it's for you to track floors and I'm sorry for this inconvenience. Our team is constantly working to improve our devices, and the input we received from the Community members is a big part of the process.

While this stat isn't available on the Charge 5, you can support this idea posted in the Feature Suggestions board so our developers can take it into consideration for future improvements. Your feedback is truly appreciated and we'll keep working to make Fitbit more useful for you.
