Since the app was updated to allow you, when starting an activity, to choose the activity you are about to undertake, so bike instead of walk. Since then, when I am walking, I do my usual 7 mile walk but the app says I have only done 3.68 at about double the pace I know I am at.
Hi Orvie
This sounds very similar to my experience yesterday when my Charge 5 stopped recording my 5k run around half way.
I will be very interested to see the reply. At the moment it looks like it is a known problem and they are trying to find a fix - but I have experienced this problem intermittently for 2 or 3 months now. Also worth noting that in UK Charge 5 is no longer available! I am now searching for alternatives as the Charge 5 is too unreliable! Good luck with your problem I do hope it can be resolved.
Best AnswerHi
well this morning my app was tracking accurately. I assume(hope) this means they fixed it
it still does not keep the app screen up like it used to and when it goes away I have to manually log back into my phone since it seems to block face recognition. I do not care for the new look but I suspect I will get used to that if everything works
sabe us from updates
Since the July 24 update, my numbers are crazy. I walked a path that I knew was 1 mile. It tracked 10 miles and 19,000 steps. My watch was tracking proper steps but when I stopped the walk on my phone, the numbers on my watch switched to 19,000 as well.
Hi Orvie
Thank you for the update and I do hope that your issue has been resolved but, from my experience, that might not be the case. What action was taken to resolve your problem? Have you updated your Fitbit in any way? Which Fitbit do you have?
I first encountered the problem a couple of months ago and thought it was probably me - not charging up my Charge 5 or inadvertently knocking the Fitbit whilst I was running. The next few runs were accurately recorded and then it happened again - the Fitbit stopped tracking after a few hundred steps when I ran over 7.5k. I have had one or two other instances but the one this week really "took the biscuit" and, in the light of what appears to be apathy on the part of Fitbit I am inclined to look elsewhere now for a reliable tracker. They say that it is a known problem and they are working on a fix - but I am not sure I can wait.
I think you need to continue to monitor as, based on my experience, you might experience repeat problems.
Best AnswerHi,
Oh I will keep monitoring. Started when I took a bike ride and there was no way to change walk to bike. I emailed in the feedback they have on the app and a few days later, there was a way to choose what activity you were engaging in. I never did anything, it was just all of a sudden there. Since then I have encountered the inaccurate tracking problem. Then today, it tracked properly. I walk the same route every morning so I know when it is right and wrong. Again I did nothing, it was just tracking correctly. But...it still would not stay on screen like it used to. Each time I looked at it you had to swipe the phone and...it would not take face id, had to put my pass key in. Everything else works with that face id.
Updates, updates. I've had so many things go wrong after updates. I will keep tabs on it and keep the site updated.
