Hello @Daveyboy98

What do you mean?  Do you mean your heart rate isn't showing up on your Charge 5 itself?  Just in case that's what you mean, make sure green lights are flashing on the back.

If they're not, scroll down from the Clock Face screen until you get to Settings.  Tap, then scroll up until you get to Heart Rate.  Make sure that it's toggled to On.

If everything is switched to On, there are green lights, but it's still not picking up your heart rate, try moving it to a slightly different position on your arm.

Do you have tattoos on your wrist?  People are finding that the Charge 5 can't read their heart rate through them and have to adjust the position or switch to the other arm in some cases.

I hope that helps a bit.

Cheers you are absolutely right I am covered in tattoos and it won’t work but as soon as I placed it on my wife’s wrist it worked a dream never in a million years would I have known that I’ve been trying all day with no success I think someone should put it out there that if you’ve got tattoos around your wrist then myth is is never going to work, now I’m wondering will any smart watch ever work I don’t fancy spending £440 on a new Apple 7 if the BPM not going to work or the versa or sense but thanks anyway regards dave

Hi @Daveyboy98  there was a member recently who posted that the Inspire 2 worked with their tattoos, so that might be an option for you. They tried the Charge 5 but found it didn't like the tattoos, but the Inspire 2 worked without any problems.

Oh, sorry it's not working for you, but I'm glad you solved the mystery!

I do have a practical suggestion though.  Not all watches are created equal and I think maybe even in the Fitbit line some may have more green lights that work better with tattoos (I'm not certain though).

My suggestion is to go to an electrical shop or wherever that has display models of different devices, explain your situation and ask to try a working one on to see if it works on you (I'm sure the Apple Shop would be happy to).   That way you'd know ahead of time and be able to pick something that definitely works for you. I'm pretty sure sales staff anywhere would be happy to help if it means a potential sale.

Good luck!
