Can't download new clock faces on my Charge 5

hi, there are a few new clocks on the fitbit app but i can't download any of the newer ones (stopped wearing my watch for a month ish) and i don't know how to update the software? it says it's version 188 or something in the fitbit's settings

As per the description of your post, I can confirm that your Charge 5 is running an old firmware version. To update it, please see How do I update my Fitbit device?

If after updating your Charge 5 you keep having issues to download the clock faces, please let me know if you're getting an error message. Meanwhile, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

Restart your Charge 5
- Log out of the Fitbit app
- Force quit the Fitbit app
- Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
- Log back in to the Fitbit app
