Charge 5 with Samsung Flip z3 here.  My phone can find the tracker, but it still cannot connect.  I've been having syncing issues ever since the Samsung update about 3 weeks ago and have tried everything (hard restart of tracker, uninstalling and reinstalling software, etc).  So at this point, I don't even have a tracker on my app because I had to delete and reset it so I'm starting over with simply setting one up.  Does this update address this issue? I was given a new tracker, but haven't tried to connect that one yet since it seems to be a software issue - should I try to connect that one?

Strangely enough, I did the firmware update a few days ago and now I have the battery drain issue. Annoyed is an understatement

What is the deal here?

If I update my Charge 5 and the update bricks the watch or results in a battery drain so horrible that the watch becomes unusable, will I get a replacement watch for free?

My warranty have run out.

The fitbit app promts me to update the watch every time I open it. Is there a way to get rid of that message permanently. I do not want to gamble with an update since my watch is working correctly right now.

This happened to me - getting a replacement sent.

I installed the firmware and my battery last 3 hours max now. I spoke to customer services and they are sending me a replacement. Try contacting them via your Fitbit app on your phone

I was offered a replacement but turned it down, because maybe the replacement will have the same issue since it's the firmware update that caused the problem? Keep us posted!!

I finally decided to install this update last week, nothing changed, at least that I noticed. Everything is working fine. My battery still lasting 7 days, for the way I use it.

Pathetic! My comments get deleted because Fitbit know that all they make is **ahem** and their updates are a pipe of **ahem** too!

Fitbit doesn't have updated software which will allow pairing with several Galaxy phones. They also don't know when the issue will be resolved. My Charge 5 doesn't even keep time now. Fitbit won't refund our money for our two Charge 5s which are barely over 6 months old. After much runaround they told us we need to get our refund from Costco as that is where they were purchased. Of course we cannot get a refund from Costco since our purchase is outside of the 90 day return period. Now we have spent hard earned money on this worthless purchase.

Battery drain completely dead in 2 days

Just an update. Have now got my replacement Charge 5 and updated it to the latest version. I'm still having the same problem with the battery drain issue. It's gone from 75% to 70% in about 15 minutes!

this is why I hesitate to get a replacement. Mine works, no battery issues but completely unable to get notifications. Why would a replacement work any better? Same watch, same software, same firmware!

I have had my charge 5 for 1 year, a few days ago my battery was draining from 100% to 4% within a couple of hours, I did the update 3 days ago and this has fixed the battery life. However my charge 5 won't track my sleep since the update, any suggestions?

Hi there - please could you assist - I tried to update the software but it seems that the unit has frozen about three quarters of the way through the process, and nothing I do seems to awaken the unit. I tried the button on the charger (3 times) but each time I do this the unit will then vibrate, switch off then simply turn on again back to where I was before. As you can see from my pic below - this is where it has remained for 2 days, and I have not managed to get to use this yet!
