Hi,
My Charge 5 will not sync, last sync was at 1am.
I've tried:
- Deleting the app and reinstalling
- Turning the bluetooth on/off
- Restarting the Charge 5
- Restarting my S21
The app will say:
'Syncing your charge 5'
'Sync is taking a while. Sit tight...'
'Couldn't Sync your charge 5 - Fix It'
The 'Fix it' tab just brings me to a web page without the options above.
Any further ideas on how to resolve?

Did you ever manage to get it to sync? Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago. It refused to sync so I took it off and started using my old charge 2. A few days later after the the battery was completely drained I tried it again and it synced immediately. I don't know if draining the battery had any connection to it finally syncing, or if it was just coincidence. I haven't had any problems with it since then. Good luck.

Mine is doing the same for the past 12 hours "Sync is taking a while sit tight"
But
I have been asleep all night my watch claims I have taken
6,690 steps =4.36km
burned up 2,464 calories
and have made 98 zone minutes all this while I sleep I've done well🤣🤣
Something is wrong
The app does not recognise my watch. I have turned on/off both watch and phone, cleared data, forced app to stop, made sure I have updates.
Is there something I'm missing

Has now synced and wiped all collected anonymous steps, distance and calories burned.
Watch is now telling me I have been awake for 5 hours and not taken 1 step.
I'm now going to return to point of purchase for a refund, it is clearly not worth the money spent buying.

Thanks mill for your responses. I ended up having to set up the charge 5 again and it was working fine. until this morning as it's telling me I had 9000 steps done by 8am...unless its now counting steps in my dreams lol
I have to say I've been loving the Charge 5 which I bought back in October until these issues have started.
Any ideas on how to reset the steps for the day or should I just unpair and set up again?

The problem occured to my charge 5 right after the firmware update om May 17th 2022.
The Charge5 is not syncing with my android nor with my windows PC.
I've tried:
* rebooting mobile phone
* force shutting down the app (app did not comply all three times I tried this)
* reinstalling the app on my android
* connecting to the charge 5 from my windows 10 app (on laptop)
* connecting to the charge 5 logged in at fitbit.com (on laptop)
* rebooting charge 5
* turning bluetooth on and off
* reading the help
In my opinion the firware update is the culprit.
I am still looking for a solution.
To me the fitbit is worthless if I cannot see the data (via an app, the device display is not helpful in this regard imho).

I am having the same problem since last night. The last week I've had to directly sync and it would take longer than normal. As of last night it will not sync, and none of the directed fixes help.

Hello,
My problem was caused by an update of the Charge 5 firmware.
One can see the latest update date of the formware when logged into the fitbit website (I believe)
My firmware upgrade syncing poblem has been resolved by a hard reboot/hard reset of the Charge 5.
See youtube for how to do that. It's a procedure in which the button on the electric charger plays a role.
A hard reset can also be achieved by letting the battery lose all power (but that obviously takes time).
Mind you:
with a hard reset one will lose all data from the moment the syncing stopped unfortunately.
So, the sooner one does it the better (less data to lose).
This worked for me.
Mileage may vary, for instance because the causes of not-syncing may differ,

Hard reset with the charger fixed the no syncing problem. Thank you.. Still takes a while to sync, and doesn't do it automatically when opening the app like it used to, but at least I'm getting my info again.

I am so frustrated with charge 5 as it does not sync. Same message -it will take time , Hold tight etc etc then no sync ! Fit Bit needs to go back to all time sync! I will return it and go back to charge 4
doing it manually is so frustrating as it still does not sync - cannot keep on installing it to get it to work properly
