I bought my Charge 5 about a year ago. A few weeks ago, my Charge 5 screen went blank after swimming. I got it restarted using the small button on the charging cord, pressing it 3 times, etc. Since then, it will charge to 100% but it drops to less than 20% within an hour. All apps and extra features are shut off, so there is nothing extra draining the battery. It left it on my desk for a week while I went on vacation. I tried it again recently, after vacation, and I had the same problem: it charges to 100% and drains to less than 20% within an hour. So, it's absolutely unusable after 1 year of use.

Hello & welcome @4416 & @Matmark89
Sorry to see you're having issues with your Charge 5 battery losing power so quickly.
When this happened with my Charge 5, I did multiple restarts & recharging over several days. This process finally got my device "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days. Hopefully, you will have a similar positive experience.
A couple of users recently posted that they saw improved battery life when they disable SpO2 on their Charge 5. One of the users also disabled ECG & EDA, which also helped improve battery life. This might be a tip to consider.

This is 4416 and I’ve tried all the suggestions. I disabled the Sp02, the ECG and EDA and I’ve continued to charge it whenever it fell below about 10%, which happens every day. I was able to scyn it and change the clock face but I have never been able to get the charge to last much longer than an hour. The battery never “unstuck” even after 8+ rechargings.

Hello @4416
Thank you for the update although I was hoping for a different outcome. Since you've tried the recommended troubleshooting steps without success, it sounds like you should contact Fitbit support. Click here for links to contact support via chat, phone, and direct message: Fitbit support

I just came into the forum looking for answers. Very similar problem. I had my Charge 5 on the charger all night last night and it's already saying it's at 10%.. This is the third time since Thursday/Friday I've seen it behave this way.

I have the same problem with the charge 5 it has never been in the water and just started this issue two days ago and of course they say it's out of warranty and will give me 30 percent off a new one .in the last almost five years I have gone thru 3 charge 2's and one charge 5 . This is the last time period. I think all my friends are having the same issue as we all bought ours around the same time, there must have been a bad update or these are not designed to last past a year.
