We have a Charge 5 that's only a few months old. This morning it stopped synching. The screen is black. We have tried the reset and it only flashes the Fitbit logo and does nothing else. Not sure what else to do.

@NANOFISHY if you are Australian then consumer law protects you if a product is not fit for purpose or does not last a reasonable length of time regardless of the length of the warranty and you are entitled to your choice of remedy including repair, replacement or refund, so if they are no longer making the charge 5 you are entitled to a refund. It is also illegal for a company to misrepresent the legal rights of consumers to their customers even if they are a foreign company, if they are marketing their products to Australian consumers so keep evidence if they do that. I’ve screen shot this reply.

As unbelievable as it sounds, they are not going to resolve this issue. They have made charge 6 and they will wait until all 5s disappear from the face of the earth and are forgotten forever.

This is exactly what happened when Fitbit 4 had a similar widespread issue. I know from (bad) experience with both Ch 4 and now Ch 5. Brutal.
My advice - get breakage insurance or get another device. The leopard won't change its spots.

Same story with my Charge 5. Only a few months old and it went to a black screen. Have tried all suggested fixes, no change to black screen. It appears to have just died!

I cannot change the clock face nor can I restart my device when my phone is not able to connect to the watch. My watch is less than a year old. What the heck????

Update: I've reached the Service Center and had the option to have a replacement or a discount to buy a new product - I opted to have a replacement as I did not know that they would launch Charge6. For now, the replacement is working well, let's see until when...

I am having the same issue too! I tried contacting support and they have to check my "warranty" a little annoyed because last year I was sent a new main piece due to the battery being drained very quickly a year after I got it and now not even a year after that happened this is happening. Quite frustrated as I use this on a daily basis.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for my Charge 5, which appears to turn on but the screen is black. The device vibrates when it resets but the screen will not display anything... seems like a lot of people are having this problem. Device is out of warranty but very lightly used.

I tried all of these steps a few times but none of it works. I connected with support and was offered a 50% discount on a new product, however given my experience with the Charge 5, and another previous product, I would not like to spend more money with fitbit. I think there needs to be some attention here as this issue with the Charge 5 appears to be widespread.

@Chrg5dedcut your losses and move on to another company. Fitbit/Google doesn't support out of warranty product that their firmware update bricked (mine was 14 months old). Don't spend any more money with a company that won't fix its screwups; it's the only thing we can do as consumers. I bought an Amazfit Band 7 a few months ago and am happy with it.
