My charge 5 screen has gone black suddenly. I have tried to restart by plugging in to charge & pressing the button the charger 3 times. I have also plugged & unplugged 8 times & waited. Sometimes the fitbit logo comes up with a red light at the back, but that's about it. Does this mean it's time for a new one?

Thanks for sharing with us the situation you're having with your Charge 5 and for your efforts.
Have you tried to sync your tracker with the Fitbit app and check if there are any firmware updates pending? I suggest you try to change the clock face too.

Hi @FatimaFitbit, I have the same issue. The tracker syncs with the Fitbit app, the green LED light at the bottom of the device works but the screen doesn't work. When I tap on the screen, there is a gray rectangle that appears, but no display.

Absolutely the same happened with me today. My replaced Charge5 is not even a year old. I’ve been very careful to follow the caring etc instructions.
My charge 5 screen has gone black suddenly during this afternoon. I have tried to restart by plugging in to charge & pressing the button the charger 3 times. I have also plugged & unplugged 8 times & waited. Sometimes the fitbit logo comes up with a red light at the back, and it vibrated for nearly 10minutes nonstop. After it stopped vibrating, I tried charging again but to no avail.
Please help me. Please tell me I didn’t waste my money on what I thought was the best brand in the industry.

Thank you so much to both of you for sharing with us that you're having the same situation with your Charge 5s and for all the steps you already tried.
Have you tried to change the clock face of your trackers? You can try it out by choosing a clock face developed by Fitbit.

I have the same issue. Screen went blank overnight as daylight saving started. I can longer sync the Fitbit or see the display. The only sign of life is the green light on the back when I wear it.
i have had the watch for 13 months so just out of warranty

Same thing here. Unable to install new clock face, see anything but black. It logs my steps but nothing else, and I can only tell that by looking at the app.

Thanks for letting us know you're having this situation too and for your efforts. Can you please check if you can sync your Charge 5 with the Fitbit app and if the LEDs are blinking on the back side of your device?

Does not sync with App
No led lights at all
It does vibrate when I press reset button on charger but I don’t think it’s charging.
Not reflecting swim or steps on app on phone

Changing the clock face on my tracker didn't really help. My display went from displaying a gray rectangle to a white rectangle. What actually worked was plugging and unplugging 8 times and waiting. Everything is back to normal.

I have tried all the above options as well as trying to change the clock face. However the app cannot connect to the device. It shows a small battery with an Exclamation point inside and says “no info”. I have also tried to unplug it eight times but this did not have any effect. My Charge5 remains unresponsive and keeps on flashing a blue Fitbit logo. When I charged it last night it started vibrating for more than an hour.
When I go to the Fitbit app, it shows that I have steps for today although I did not wear it at all. It was still vibrating, so I left it at home. The app is also very clear that it cannot connect to the device.
Please direct me on what I should do next.

I tried restarting with the charger cable button many times. I cannot connect via Bluetooth so changing the clock face isn’t an option.

I also have had this issue the past couple of days with my Charge 5 having a blank screen.
Battery was on 5% so plugged it into charge and now nothing on the screen.
steps still sync with phone app but nothing on screen.
Cleaned etc and also tried resetting with the button on lead.
No difference at all.
Please Please please advise further.

I’ve tried all of these suggestions multiple times and even deleted the app and reinstalled it.
my WiFi can’t find my watch ( or pair with it)
I’ve lost all my prior data and still have a dead Fitbit- black screen, no lights, no connection,
now what?
