Charge 5, device went dead

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Device went dead seven hours ago, tried everything to revive. It came back alive 1 hour ago  with full battery, by itself.  10 minutes  later got a message of low battery, put it on the charger, nothing is happening, still at 2%.  This is going to be my last Fitbit product.  Had issues with all my previous ones.

My Fitbit Charge Five  device just stop working, screen totally dark.  Battery is full., had it for maybe close to one year.  I tried everything .

My charge 5 was working great charging it once a week and no problems. Suddenly the battery was draining faster and faster from a few days to Les than 12 hours and finally it won’t even wake up when on the charger. Fitbit support was not helpful starting with the chat feature then moving to twitter for better support. The bottom line is Fitbit seems to be really good at finding an out when it comes to supporting their products. I had only owned t a few months and purchased it brand new from eBay. That’s where support ended I didn’t purchase it from an “authorized seller “. Nothing else mattered at that point they found there out and therefore I was out. I this was my first fitness tracker and I used it primarily for walking and biking. I thought of Fitbit as a reputable company but with my experience and reading the experience of othered it is clear they’ve lost their way.

Thanks for your reply and advice, I do charge my Charge 4/5 daily but my wife didn’t, she charged hers every few days and it still died the same way after 7 months, this issue never happened with the previous versions, my friend’s Charge 2 worked perfectly for 6 years. So I do think there’s a design fault or a defect component with the Charge 5 somehow.

I bought my first Charge 5 in an electronic shop 2 years ago, I noticed it can only be purchased online now, maybe it’s so unreliable resellers stopped stocking them in the shop. 🙄

I bought mine from Fitbit and got no help. Nothing they suggested worked and each time I emailed they had the same solution which did not work. I would not buy another thing from Fitbit

I bought mine from Fitbit online and didn’t get any more help than you got. I finally gave up. I loved my original one but the charger is not worth buying. I no longer own a fitbit

The same thing happened to me!  I've been reading in various tech magazines online and it seems that Fitbit's latest update is to blame.  I talked with three support people and was able to get it going again (force restart with cable; leave charging all night), but it has since drained rapidly and gone black twice.  Mine is only 9 months old but for geographic reasons, Fitbit says it's out of warranty.  They generously (HA!) offered me 30% of a new one; why would I do that when this is obviously a flawed product and when Fitbit screws it up even more?  I feel the same -- this is the last one I'll ever buy.

I got the update. And it turned my charge 5 into a brick within a couple days. Support says it's out of warranty, but offered me 35% off a new watch. It worked fine until the update. Fitbit has acknowledged that there is an issue and thousands are having the same issue. Currently, they're unwilling to replace my device or fix my current oned ue to their issue. I'm not happy.

Mine died too, the same thing battery drained and won't turn back on even on charger and resetting. Fitbit only offered a 35% discount because out of the 1 year warranty. The kicker is my partner has a Fitbit charge 5 as well bought at the same time (about 1.5 years ago) and it was working fine, I went to charge it and update it and it also miraculously died with the same thing. Can't be a coincidence 2 die at the same time. I am really dissatisfied that they know this is an issue and won't offer a replacement device. Looking into an oura ring. A friend has one and it at least lasts more than 1 year.

Red light of death.  Was working at 7am.  Died at 8am, literally while on my wrist.

Similar to the folks above, was told I'm out of warranty but - hey - here is a 35% off coupon.

I'm beyond disgusted right now.
