My charge 5 was working for a while (or I wasn’t paying enough attention) but now it seems to not work well at all. It is only a little over two months old.
2 days ago, I walked around a 3-mile loop twice. The GPS reported that I walked in a strait line for the distance, and I noticed that as I made the second lap, it only reported that I had walked 5 miles instead of the 6 miles it should have been.
Today I went for a hike that I know is 14 miles in total and the GPS didn’t even come on during the hike (although it is set to do so) and the distance was reported as 11.35 miles.
As a fitness tracker, you would think that the basic function of tracking my fitness would be the main priority of the device, it now seems that it is basically an expensive piece of junk that can’t even do what it was designed to do.
If the distances reported are so far off that they can’t be trusted, what else is this thing misreporting?
This is the third Firbit I have purchased. It appears they have really gone downhill, and I will need to find a different manufacturer that can make a device that at least does the basic functions of tracking my exercise.

So you are saying the distance seems off, right? From the opening "basic functions not working", it sounded like not getting any steps, heart rate, calorie, burn, time keeping, exercise tracking, etc.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Neither the GPS or the distance tracking is working. I consider that to be a basic function of any fitness tracker.
If it can't track that correctly how could the calories burned be correct? and how do I know if anything else is correct?
