Charge 5 keeps crashing when I get a notification

My Charge 5 started locking up and becoming none responsive a few days ago. It took me awhile to identify the trigger but it locks up every time I have a notification. If I don’t get the 250 hourly steps or when I hit the daily goal  it dies and has be placed on the charger to reset it.
