This charge 5 goes into reset randomly, daily , and needs to be put on charger to get back.  Always shows over 50% battery when this happens.

Hi there, @BDANIEL230. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, we're here to help you!

There are some general recommendations that are usually helpful with any type of display issues. If you haven't done so already, please try the steps listed here below that have been useful for other users:

  1. As @Gr4ndp4 suggested, please complete the 3 pulse restart procedure method using the charging cable.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, please try tapping on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears (since a new firmware version has been released for the Charge 5).
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

Again, as soon as I connect the charger the watch comes back to life but shows the time when it stopped, usually around 4 or 5 hours after I put it on.  I have changed back to the default clock face and reset to factory but it continues to do this.  I have done the 3 pulse restart a few times but the behavior exists.

Same thing is happening to me.  Spent way too long trying to fix this.

  • I've pulse restarted (many times now)
  • I was able to sync (if you catch it right you can get to the settings menu), this did not fix the problem.
  • I was able to change the clock face, installing a new one, this did not fix the problem.
  • I disconnected the bluetooth/forgot the device/deleted the fitbit app on my iphone (advice found in other posts).  Then reinstalled the app, created a new account, and re-added the device.  This did not fix the problem.
  • I have tried every single thing anyone has said in any of the forum posts talking about the charge 5 restart issue, nothing seems to stop the constant restart cycle.

Since I've had the device since 2022 (outside the warranty period), I'm guessing there is no reason to contact customer support.

My charge 5 also restarts, but it is a constant loop.  It shows the clock face, goes black, then shows the fitbit logo, then black again, then the clock face (and repeat). The whole cycle takes about 20 seconds.
