I generally love my Fitbit Charge 5. Bought April 2022 in Sydney. The 7 day battery life is what made me choose this rather than an Apple iwatch or Garmin. I've been pretty good with charging every 6-7 days. Low dim, not using the Pay function and not using the ECG or Meditation. Its been really good to use for general fitness and sleep tracking which has gotten better with recognising what I need more of (more as a teacher)
I used it for a run around Rome and it simply stopped holding charge after that.
So for the last two weeks. It has not survived more than a day.
I have restarted the device a few times and now it serves the purpose of just being a plastic bracelet.
Is this happening to anyone else?
Are there any solutions or has the battery simply died?
After a Decade of Charge, Alta and Charge 5 do I move on to an apple iwatch?
Would love to tell the time, rather than taking out my phone in class.

Hi, thanks for all the details that you've provided about this issue with your Charge 5, @CJ91.
In addition to the steps that you already tried from the community forums, and before sending your information to the Customer Support team, could you please confirm if you've also tried all the steps shared in this article to extend battery life? There are some features like SpO2 tracking, GPS and Always On display that can make the battery drain faster than usual.

Hello & welcome @CJ91
When my Charge 5 battery started to rapidly lose power, I restarted and recharged my device multiple times over several days. Eventually, my Charge 5 became "unstuck" and the battery went back to lasting 6-7 days.
One of the users posted detailed steps that they took which seemed to help reduce their battery loss. Perhaps some of the steps they took might help you as well. Click here for: Possible fix to rapid battery drain
Hope you will also have a similar positive result.

Hi Reiko
Unfortunately it still only lasts a few hours before dying.
I've uninstaller all apps on it. And still nothing. Bought directly from fitbit so not a retailer.

Save issue here since last week, battery went down, usually charging after 6-7 days, and now didn't last for more than 30mins, when it don't shut down randomly.
Can't find any solution for now T-T

Hi David.
Thanks for getting in contact.
I have attempted all points. I have dimmed brightness. Uninstalled all apps. Using gps on phone. Reset it multiple times to no avail. I cant understand. It worked so well without fault and then the battery drain occurred. It does not go more than 6-7 hours.
Again. This was activated. 22/4/22. From fitbit Sydney Australia.

Hi David,
Thank you for sending this this further. It has been an issue since July and I've had to charge it daily. It is only 15 months old when the issue occurred.
I hope to hear from them soon with a solution.
I can provide all documentation needed for this purchase as it was directly from the fitbit site.
Kind Regards,
CJ

David I am on day 4 of it not holding a charge. Charged overnight again 100% this morning and put it on. Within 10 minutes it was down to 70 %, back on charger. I have done everything in the forum. There was an update to a new format on my phone, but the actual watch after working fine until Sunday, still won't hold a charge. I'm ready to give up on this and call it quits. This happened before, but usually only once or twice and it seems to happen with updates. Now I'm frustrated its not working at all. Thanks if you can help.

David. No message from support and when I try contacting it bounces me back here. Yes I tried the flat button restart, the logo never comes up, it just wants to keep charging. Logo does come up for restart. Charge then dies within a few minutes. I ready to purchase from another brand. Customer since 2015. Goodbye.

Yes ! Same problem!
my charge 5 is about 15 months old. It has bn great. Used it to track a 30 min pool swim as i have periodically the last 15 months. Since then my fitbit has no green lights in back and shows no heart rate available and will not hold a charge. I hv to take it off and re-charge it 3-4 times / day, even though prior to that swim it could go days. It did track that swim! Just shows my heart rate stopped tracking that same hour as did ny battery life! Not happy. Honestly considering replacing with something different rather than risk breaking to track
