Charge 5 records inaccurate activity and steps count

My 13 month old Charge 5 is only recording about half my steps and it identifies my activity in correctly. If I walk on the treadmill for 40 min, it records as a 27 min elliptical activity. No matter how far I walk, it records about half the distance. This issue started last week. This tracker is synced with my Samsung S10 phone. How to correct this?

My issue is when I water jog. I would normally have 1500 steps in half hour now about 400. Just in water jogging and I use may arms.  Started 3 weeks ago across 3 different devices. Flex 2 charge 4 and chargec5.  I swear algorithm was changed.  Support call in but not optimistic
