Lost my screen last Saturday and it hasn't come back.  Fitbit doesn't even vibrate when I connect the charger

A firmware update has been rolling out over the past month that appears to be bricking a number of Fitbit charge 5 devices.  There is no solution from Fitbit.

I'm having many of the same issues but I haven't even received the latest update.

Same here.  But mine does vibrate when I plug it in, but nothing happens.  Still have a black screen!  I've tried the 3 button push on the charger & that vibrates, but nothing changes!  My Charge 5 is 16 months old, and I don't think I want another one!  I just want this one to work, but that's not happening & since I'm past the warranty I know I'm screwed.  Just sick of these problems with no solution except to pay for another one!  Nope!

Same problem here!  Just was wondering if you or anyone else reading this have "moved your account to Google" to be a "part of the Google family".  Just wondered if there was any more of a response for a solution to this problem from Google.

Same here!  Don't know where else to turn and am REALLY frustrated!  Mine is 16 months old.  Sure would like it to last longer than that!

Mines about same age and did tech support and it was next to useless they had me clean the parts that touch to charge and move to another charger then wait thirty minutes and call back. But I think I’m just going to throw away or buy another then take it back but with the bad one lol.

Do get in touch with customer service... The 2 units in my family bricked at 11 and 14 months of use. They replaced them both. But it's a frustratingly slow process and wait (replacements are sent to me from USA to Asia) and disappointing that they can't last 2 years. I use Garmin now

I've only had mine for 6 months and it is no longer working. I contacted support in the app and also did the online solutions to no avail. Hopefully, it doesn't become a bigger problem (ie not getting my money back or a replacement) as I have been enjoying it up until now.

Mine oddly started working again this morning. Previously tried the 3 push reset procedure multiple times to know avail only pulses in response and a blank screen no green light, no charge nor sync.

Tried again this morning with the 3 push reset and this time no pulses and still a blank screen.

3rd try I tried hovering the contacts of the charger over the connect barely touching and removing a couple times.Trying to mimic the reset manually. Thinking short bursts of power is what wakes up the battery.

May have worked? Suddenly watch turned on getting pretty warm in the process. As of now screen is on and watch appears to be charging.

Thanks.  Interesting, but I tried that & nothing happened.  Not sure I was "hovering" over the contacts correctly. 😏  I've tried again a couple times to no avail.  But you did get my hopes up.  After you did that, did it start working right away, or was it some time later?

I moved my account to Google and have had nothing but trouble. My Charge 5 is dead. I am through with Fitbit!!!! I guess Fitbit folks never heard the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." It's been three days of frustration. Now, I'm looking for a more reliable tracker.

Yeah, I'm wondering what to do with mine as well.  Don't want to have to keep buying a new one every year or so!  Ridiculous!

Same problem here. Pretty upset though because fitbit won’t help me. I bought my charge 5 just under a year ago from Amazon. Now they won’t honor the warranty because amazon is not an authorized dealer.

Have you tried contacting Amazon?  They're pretty good on Customer Service.  They may honor the warranty themselves.  At least they may give you some sort of solution. I think it's worth a try.

Thank you. Amazon says to contact fitbit. Fitbit sent me an email to tell me that they won’t honor the warranty. They added a link to suggested retailers that are authorized. The second retailer in their list… amazon. It’s a bit confusing. I did reach out to fitbit again with this info but I haven’t heard back yet.

OMG!  Unbelievable!. They tell you Amazon isn't an authorized dealer, but then send you a list of suggested retailers that ARE authorized, and Amazon is on it?!  Unreal!  I would suggest you just keep trying with Fitbit since you now have evidence that Amazon IS an authorized dealer for them. Remind them that they sent you this link to the list of authorized dealers & Amazon is ON it!  Good luck! Keep us posted.
