I am very disappointed in FitBit given they have documentation stating the Charge 5 is water resistant; however, after wearing it in the water for less than 30 minutes it will not hold a charge, it’s completely dead. It’s out of warranty by 3 months and I was offered a 50% discount on a FitBit they have in stock and it can’t be used on certain products. This really pissed me off because I used the product as directed and now I have to spend more money on a replacement. I’ll think long and hard before I purchase another FitBit product because I’ve lost trust in the product!!

I'd like to take the time to answer (probably) your inquiry regarding why we offered a discount towards a new Fitbit product instead of a replacement of your existing Fitbit product.
With that being said, please note our limited warranty provides repair or replacement of products that have a defect while still in the warranty period. Your device is out of the warranty period, and therefore is not eligible for repair or replacement, but we want to offer you a discount to thank you for your loyalty to Fitbit.

I don't blame you! My first Charge 5 was still in warranty when it stopped so I received a new one. Now, less than one year later, it has stopped working and I've just been told they don't issue warranties on replacement. I was offered a 35% discount on a new one. Not a chance, clearly the product is crap.

I just finished reading through a ton of complaints concerning Fitbits failing shortly after the warranty period expired. My husbands first Fitbit also failed after about 16 months. I wish I had done my homework prior to purchasing a new Fitbit. Had I known the Fitbit’s failure rate was so high, I would not have invested my money in this product. My husband is a music producer with a very large social media following. He think it’s a good idea for him to get the word out to his followers about the Fitbits poor reliability because he does not want them to make the same mistake. I understand that forums are mainly used to help owners sovle issues but when a product fails. However, I feel there is a major issue when a products has such a high failure rate shortly after the warranty period. The Filtbit has a swim mode but the product fails the first time it gets wet.

I truly regret not doing my research prior to investing my hard earned money. I am currently researching other product options. This time I will focus on the reliability of the product.

Mina två första Charge 4 gick båda sönder i armbandsfästet. Den första efter ett år och den andra efter ett halvår. Köpte min tredje med 50 % rabatt och passade på att uppgradera till en Charge 5. Nu har det gått hela ett och ett halvt år och då passar urtavlan på att trilla ur fästet. Jag vill nu inte ha detta nya erbjudande om ersättningsprodukt eller 50 % rabatt på en ny produkt. Dessa produkter från Fitbit håller ju inte måttet! Jag vill ha pengarna tillbaka så att jag kan köpa en annan mer hållbar produkt. Men blir tyvärr nekad detta. Har man köpt EN Fitbit så är man tydligen fast för livet om man inte vill mista sina pengar. Dåligt!

Mine bricked this week, shortly after the warrantee period.
If anyone finds another brand with similar features please post, I'm also very disappointed. I've used fitbit products since the very first one, but I will not again after seeing how many of us are experiencing this issue with the Charge 5.
