Charge 5 - stopped working over 4th of July weekend 2025

The Charge 5 device experienced a boot loop displaying the Fitbit logo, which was resolved through charging. Subsequently, the device displayed an "X" within a circle, indicating rapid battery depletion, and ceased syncing, with the last sync occurring 18 hours prior.

 

Troubleshooting steps included uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit application, as well as rebooting the phone with Wi-Fi disabled. Following the reinstallation, the device's battery currently registers at 82%.

 

Given the prevalence of similar issues reported by other users, a key question arises: Is Google's recent update responsible for these malfunctions, potentially signaling the phasing out of support and necessitating future device upgrades?
