I bought my Charge 5 new and had to spend extra to get it shipped to Saudi Arabia because I was unsure of the authenticity of the products available here.
I got to use my band for approximately 1 year before a firmware update in December caused my device to go completely lights out.
Today I spent the better part of an hour chatting with the Fitbit executive to finally end up with no remedy to a device I lost because of an issue in their software and a 400$ hole in my pocket.
I am appalled and genuinely expected more from a company that is supposedly so well renowned for their wearables.
A PSA to anyone considering buying a charge 5, DO NOT DO IT because this is a recurring software issue a lot of people are facing.

Same thing happened with me today
I was seeing this update your charge 5 from few weeks and today morning I finally updated it and now screen is not working, it's black screen now.
and when I called customer service they told your device is already 1 year 1 months old and we offer 1year warrant only so you need to buy a new fitbit even if their update damaged the device
Pathetic service, looting the customer by damaging the device, won't be buying another fitbit.
