My Fitbit Charge 5 will not hold a charge.  I have tried a reset several times.  What do I do?

Has anyone reached out directly to Google?
Since they bought into this mess, maybe they have more to lose and will het involved to fix.

Same here. Dies within hours. Takes a long time to re-charge. Poor design.  Very disappointed with Fitbit!!

This has happened to my girlfriend’s charge 5 and now mine. I received mine for Christmas this last year!! I’m super disappointed now that google is in charge and not addressing the issue. I will be shopping with Garmin now. Later Google!

This is not a solution for the problem many of us are having. The Fit Bit will not hold a charge at all! I charge it for more than 2 hours and it only reaches 99%. Then when I wear it, my battery is drained in 2 hours. My charge 5 is only 9 months old! I am on my 4th Fit Bit, the 2nd one was replaced by Costco twice due to it not holding a charge, and now it is happening again. It is time for Fit Bit to review its quality and stand by its product. So frustrating!

Unfortunately, neither Fitbit or Google will stand by this failed product. If they were going to, they would have put some communication out by now. These moderators have a set story to parrot and they will stick with it. It needs to come from Fitbit or Google directly to have any real meaning!

There is no button on the charging adapter!

Hello @SunsetRunner

There is a small inset button on one side of the USB end of the charging cable that came with your Charge 5. See picture below:

Resetting using the bottom on the USB end of the charging cable does not resolve the problem.  I've done it multiple times and it never resolves the issue.

Spoke to a customer service rep. They played dumb and told me to turn off gps and sync the watch more often to conserves battery life…. I called them out on the firmware and he literallly said “about that, we do apologize. I’ll make a ticket on your behalf.” Haven’t heard anything since.

I am having the same problem. I charged my Fitbit Charge 5 this morning and it is completely dead 10 hours later. I have tried all they said to do and still not holding charge. Frustrating. I don’t think I would recommend it to anyone!!

I have the same problem. All of a sudden my Fitbit wont stay on if it is off the charger.

I charged my Fitbit to 100% yesterday morning and I’m down to 52% about 37 hrs later. Super disappointed. Haven’t had the watch a year yet.

This is my second Fitbit Charge 5 that has died on me.  My last one was a few months old and out of warranty.  I loved FitBit so I bought another one through Amazon in May.  You guess it...same problem.  Battery started rapidly declining.  One day it just stopped.  I have recharged it, reset it and everything and it will not hold a charge.  I am canceling my Premium Renewal and going to another company.  It is a shame...I loved Fitbit.

Considering this "best answer" isn't working for anyone it might just be me however I imagine it's not the best answer after all. Not trying to be rude in any way shape or form just saying we would all appreciate a resolution.

The resolution for Customer Service was send me a 35% off coupon to buy a new one. Which for a device purchased 1 yr 2 months ago & I'm not the only one having issues is a pretty terrible solution. They will lose me as a customer - been buying their products since 2013.

This is a non-answer. They just don't want to admit their product is defective. It's insane how many people are having the same exact issue.
