Hello @Ikky29

If you’re seriously into swimming, it might be worth looking into special goggles.  My friend has an expensive pair (probably a similar price to a Fitbit) and when he’s swimming all of his stats are displayed in front of his eyes and upload to an App on his phone.

The downside is they’re  useless for tracking steps or sleep or anything else though so you’d probably need a fitness tracker too for dry land…

Hello @Ikky29

Unfortunately, according to this thread, the only stats displayed during a swim is a timer.

Swimming Stats

A lot of people seem to be disappointed about it.

I hope that helps a bit.

For what it‘S worth, @Ikky29 - my granddaughter is on her high school swim team and has to count laps and more. She wears the new Luxe and says it works very well for her.

Thank you @Wibby ..... I'm disappointed too. I have been trying to decide between the Sense and the Charge5..... both don't seem to support Swimming stats while in the pool 😏

That is correct @Wibby .... I need a full activity tracker for other stuff like walking, sleep tracking etc. I was initially excited that the Sense may be the one, but moved my attention to the Charge 5 ...both seem not to track activities in the pool. Will have to come out and look at the App on the phone 🙄

I just got the Charge 5 and was wondering if it is truly waterproof and good for swimming? I was afraid to get my other watches wet when I heard other people having issues with them after swimming.

The Fitbit charge 5 is 100% useless when it comes to swimming.

1. Isn't able to track your heart rate accurately (heaps of gaps)

2. Isn't able to track your lengths accurately (I've set up the correct length of pool)

3. Only shows a timer on the watch interface... Why bother having a heart rate tracker if you can't use it.

Almost ANY other watch is better than this BS. Fitbit need to up their game.

Agree totally and also is it just me or are the water lock and swim functions completely incompatible?

It is waterproof, but as noted in other comments on this thread, it is far from the best choice if swimming is one of your regular workouts.

Agree! my first charge 5 died after two laps in the pool even after I activate water lock. My 2nd charge 5 has Bluetooth syncing issues after just one swim too! Frustrating! Edit I just realise this may be due to android 13 issue!

I'm now on my 2nd Charge 5.  I took the previous one swimming when it was 14 months old and out of waranty.  The display module popped out of the case and scared the heck out of me because it was still attached by its ribbon cable and it looked like an angry fishing lure attacking my wrist. The gasket/adhesive holding it in place had dried out and shrank.  After rinsing and drying it, it's almost functional.  The only thing it can't do is hold any charge at all.

Fitbit gave me a 30% off coupon for a replacement, i.e., bringing their price down to the street price.  Sigh.

I'm looking for a watch that tracks how many laps I've done in real time, it sounds like the Charge 5 doesn't do that, but this page shows it does?

Does anyone know why that is? It makes me not trust that any of the others will track laps either...
