Fitbit Charge 5 black screen

Before you say anything yes I have tried restarting it using the button on the charging cord. I feel the watch vibrate but the screen never comes on. I had this issues the other day and it just randomly came on- now a couple weeks later it’s happened again and I don’t know why. I’ve only had it for a year… has anyone else experienced this in such a short time??

Yes, I have exactly the same, mine is less than a year old as it was a replacement for a previous one that didn't work, Think I'm just going to contact Fitbit and see what they suggest.

I’ve done exactly the same and still have a black screen. It is synced with the app but I can’t get a screen so I think I’m going to dump it and have the expense of buying a reliable Apple Watch. I’m fed up spending hours trying to sort it out.

My battery just died ( it was draining rapidly every now and then but it ultimately died today). Spoke to a few customer service reps and one was completely unhelpful. The first one offered a 50% off discount code but I still don't understand why I should have to pay for a new device when they've sent me 2 faulty ones.

This one is the replacement for the time last year when they bricked everyone's devices with the software update.

They're going to offer some sort of discount code im sure. The replacements don't have a new warranty I guess. I'm pretty upset about the whole thing.

My screen also started doing this same thing this morning. At first I thought the battery was dead but then I took it off my arm and saw the green light still working. It also still syncs to my app but the screen is black. What's going on? Tried this restart too and it didn't work for me either.

I feel like Fitbit just decided to dump all of their Charge 5 models. I've been a Fitbit user since 2016 and This will definitely be the last one I buy from them because I refuse to let GOOGLE have all of my tracker data too as if they don't already know enough about us.

Yeah, I've decided to go with another company for sure. I'm not giving them money after they sent me faulty devices.

This has been such a headache

i contacted fitbit and they took me through a few things but then in the end said they could replace it, not sure how long my original warranty was was but would have expired in the last week I think if it is one year.

Will definitely try to get a watch from another company. Having to replace the watch 2 times in just over a year isn't great.

Yesterday, my Charge 5 simply stopped working.  All the normal restart processes do not work.

A little background - I have had my Charge 5 for almost 2 years.  I really like the device.  However, it has stopped a couple times in the past.

-2-3 times it unexpectedly ran out of power - simple fix was to attach it to the charge and in about 10 to 5 minutes later, it started back up.

-2 times before, it stopped working.  Following the reset procedure, I attached it to the charger and pressed the USB-A button 3 times and it came back to life..

Yesterday, though, it simply stopped dead.  The App showed that its last sync, at around 4PM, having 79% power.  But it would not sync to the App after that time.  The device would not reset or restart using the 3 press button procedure.  I tried it 10 to12 times.  The first several times, the charger would vibrate but the device would not turn on.  Once, after the 4 or 5 attempt, the charger head vibrated for about 15 seconds but the device stayed dead.  After that, I could get the charger head to vibrate again.  The device is still dead.

What other remedies are possible?
